best movies of all time. but the sound-graphic havent improved that much from the DVD versions. its better but not by a far shot. the movies themself are 5 stars but i am giving 4 due to the lack of quality improvements.

At 16.99 there is no excuse for not getting this trilogy on blue ray, an absolute steal!!!

The trilogy is still as superb as ever and the transfer is brilliant with the visual and audio quality being above par. If you're a fan of the films and have a working Blu-Ray player just click the buy button already.

Well, what can I say that the other 40 odd reviews haven't? You know what you're going to get...amazing picture quality and sound, and at this price...come on! It's 3 darn good films for what, just over a fiver each? You can't lose.

Ok, so these are not the extended versions, but there's not even a pending release date for those on the horizon anyway..so you might as well get this set for now, enjoy and then maybe in a year or two, when the extended set comes out, we can all upgrade.

In my opinion it would be a shame to miss out enjoying this box set for so long, waiting and waiting. Buy this! You won't be disappointed!

as it was advertised as the THEATRICAL release i was not dissapointed at not getting the extended version, Amazing quality, slightly overboard on the dnr cleanup, many skin textures lost especially in the fotr but overall a fantastic blu ray experience, the Balrog scenes are amazing, a few bad effects flaws here and there (third film merry and pippin riding treebeard going to ent moot) but overall stunning.

I understand that these are not the extended versions but consider this:Maybe someone like me is not very great fan of this trilogy.So i don't care if some scenes are off.I know that some of them are great scenes but some others are boring (extended Bilbo's party etc)So the price of 25 Euros is great for someone like me.Also, if the extended versions reach the market,maybe the price will drop more that 25.

This blue-ray box set includes only English language and subtitles (very excellents in the format of blue-ray english 6.1) but only in the box sets that are selling here is in English languages no others like Italian French or Spanish I recived the box set only one day ago in Spain and I am very glad with this version For me is excellent and for this price I dont wait for the extented versions I have it already on DVD Thanks

I think everybody knows by now that these aren't the extended editions, so stop complaining, don't buy it and wait until next year.
These films are still some of the best ever made, and now in HD they look and sound brilliant. At the price theres really no argument, I will probably get the extended version aswell. It is a bit weird though the first time you watch these if you are used to the extended cuts, it's like watching them on ITV and thinking that loads has been cut out (which ITV are really bad for I think)
Overall, a top purchase for any fan, and the extended versions will be even better when they arrive.

Don't feed New Line Cinemas money hungry execs who deny us the Extended Edition! Wait til next Christmas and buy the Special Extended Edition!
