Dont listen to the last review, if people prefer the theatrical editions, then here it is, if they want the extended editions then they will have to wait roughly a year for those as Peter Jackson wants to release them alongside when the Hobbit movie comes out at the pictures.

Allot of people have waited a long time for these films to hit blu ray, so why wait a year for the extended editions, enjoy the theatrical now and buy the extended next year.

  NO EXTENDED CUT?

Massive fan of LOTR trilogy so was very excited when i learnt of the Blu-Ray release but after getting my copy delivered on Saturday i am upset that these are just the normal cinema versions?
Why have we had to wait so long for this release in the first place and then the film company have the nerve to issue the normal cinema versions for 40 quid?
We all know that in 12 months time we will have to shell out possibly 60 quid plus for a special collectors extended version boxset of these films so they should have given us loyal fans this version now.
The transfer is good the picture is clear and crisp and the sound is great BUT my Blu-Ray player upscales my DVD extended versions of these films and does a very good job of it so i feel slightly ripped off with this Blu-Ray boxset, My advice is if you have the extended versions and a Blu-Ray player stick with what you have and save your cash to buy the extended release that will no doubt be here sooner rather than later.
Only buy this set if you feel you really really have to or if you dont have the extended version on DVD.

This is a joke right? Everyone wants to buy the extended versions, but the studios are still trying to sell us this blu ray that is only the theatrical version? Ripping us fans off or what! Wait for the extended editions, dont waste your money on this!

Like the title says. but still this will do in the mean time. and it will look and sound awsome, as it should be an easy transfer to blu ray becouse it was shot on hd film originaly. And as for a film review dose anyone reading these reviews honestly need one
