Where The Wild Things Are (2009) (With DVD) (Blu-ray)

My five year old daughter has always enjoyed having the book "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendark read to her as a bed time story. The boy who plays as nine year old Max is a great young actor and the Wild Things are really brought to life in great style from the excellent drawings in the book. The story is very strange and at times a bit on the dark side. When the film is finish you are left thinking was it real or just the boys imagination.
On the blu-ray disc there are some great special features about the film which are exclusive to blu-ray. It comes in most handy having a dvd copy of the film because your children can watch it in their bedroom or in the car if you have a dvd player set up in your car.

i remember the book when i was younger and hearing about the film 2 or 3 years ago. when it finally came out last year and i saw it i LOVED it,its very diiferent and original and how the book got turned into a film is top notch. its a beautiful film from start to finish and wil make u go aww and make u feel good about urself. i got it from america cos they have it now and i couldnt wait the 2 months or so cos i need it now lol i love it that much. a film for all ages althou i say parents should watch it with their kids cos its not exactly a kids film like most think it is cos it has big fluffy monsters in it. it has some dark undertones to it so parents watch it with ur kids. BEST FILM for a long time a must see

I loved this movie and is a must buy on Blu Ray, the effects and acting are top notch

Personally I am suprised play.com don't tell you which blu-rays are region free and which are not, but it is easy enough to find out

I watched this with an open mind. After watching the trailers, I thought it would be a whimsical adventure through a child's imagination. The child came across as irritating and uninteresting, rather than lonely and troubled. Consequently the world into which he escapes is a depressing bleak looking forest inhabited by mumbling, uninteresting creatures. Maybe that was the point, but it certainly wasn't entertaining. If that's the best my imagination could conjure when I was feeling down, I wouldn't have bothered growing up.
