Having been a long time fan of the Irons since, well....erm.. let me see now.. 1979, I have been waiting for this ALL MY LIFE!
And I must say that it is absolutely stupendous to see the boys in such a relaxed attitude, joking and having a good laugh all round, with journalists and fans.
Few bands do this to their fans, and this effort by Iron Maiden is nothing short of spectacular.
And this Blu-Ray version does the job very well indeed. The images of that beautiful 757 soaring in the skies in high-definition is nothing short of amazing. Better than life...better than life.
I am not about to grumble (like some) of the content of the concerts. Maiden made it clear that this was not a money spinner but a tribute to all those fans who never saw those songs from the 'golden era'being played live. And I actually liked the idea....
Seeing the young kids being so emotional about their heroes had me blinking back my tears...it reminded me so much of myself when I met Steve Harris back here in Malta around 1981
We all need good clean heroes to look up to, and Iron Maiden are up there with the best!
Great blu-ray, with the clincher coming in the last few minutes and delivered by soft-spoken guitarist Janick Gers.
''If you like our music, then God bless you.
And if you DON'T like our music, then guess what...
God bless you too.''
Recommended to all metal fans...can't wait for the RUSH one!
I love you guys!
