Who said that sequels are never as good?

A truely great movie (even if it is a sequel). Blu-Ray, DVD & Digital copy.. all under 15 quid! Great plot, introducing more Marvel characters and setting the sceen for a possible Avengers movie. Quality is stunning, special features are entertaining. I saw this movie in IMAX at the cinema and noticed an alternate sceen (unless it was just the IMAX version). Still, good fun for all the family. Both thumbs up and roll on Iron Man 3!

  very good!

A very good film with an excellent transfer and fantastic extras. After reading some of the reviews here I wasn't sure what to make of it but I am now very pleased after buying it. Great price too.
You will not regret buying this!

Film 4/5
Extras 5/5
Picture 5/5
Sound 5/5

  The sequel that was need.

The film it's self wouldn't be so great if you didn't see the first one, but on the other hand it does what was need to be done. It shows Tony Starks struggle with himself, friends and choices he makes/made.
This needed to happen because you don't become a superhero over night. By the end of the film your thinking "okay now he's Iron man! when's number 3?" (Answer to that is 2013)

Play edition of this is worth getting if your a fan of the film, but I would say maybe pay the little extra because it is a very good deal, even if you haven't even seen it yet. It look beautiful on blu-ray and there are hours of extra content of behind the scene and how they made it. Really great to watch.

  Great fun

As sequels go this is excellent, picking up straight after the first movie, they got the balance of Tony Starks arrogance and genius perfect. Wittily scripted, with some great action sequences, this film is about the people as much as the animated suits! One thing that is an issue is having 100s of grey battle suits fighting Iron Man at night, it bought back memories of the transformers movies...lots of fast moving metal objects, nice to see, but a tad detached as a viewing experience. Of course, in the comics , battles are a slower experience (they go at the readers pace) so I think the producers of this film have done the best they can ( as with Transformers).

Get it, enjoy it.

The Thor , Captain America and Avengers movies are yet to come. Frankly , in the last 10-12 years, I can't think of many really bad Marvel comic adaptions , possibly elements of Spiderman 3 and of course, the first Hulk film ( but the Hulk reboot was great ). I love this stuff, and if you are a comic fan or an action movie fan, you should too !

  Loved it!

This was the first of the "Marvel" films I saw in the cinema and I loved it. A great sequel to IM 1 with great characters and action (I loved War Machine). As in the first one, we are also given hints to the future after the credits have finished rolling!
btw - Can anyone explain the point of Blue Ray/ DvD box sets? IMHO its's like having a DVD/ VhS set! If you have a blue ray copy of a film, why watch the DvD?

for sheer entertainment value the score must be a '5'
this time 'iron-man' is under threat from a 'russian' seeking revenge against 'stark industries'
you only have to look at the cast list to know top-line actors want involvement in this popular 'marvel' characters movies.
it's got plenty of great 'cgi' action sequences that are complimented by this format.
the film is a must-see for all 'marvel' comic fans along with those who just want ---top-line entertainment.

  Why a triple play

Why a triple play, I just want blu ray because thats where I spent my cash upgrading to.
Anyway an average film, not nearly as good as the first.
There are two very good action peices, one with whiplash nea r the begginning and at the end with war machine, all the other bits were boring.
Needless to say the first film was a supprise hit and they just cash ed in with this sequel, even Downey looked scrawny compared to his physique in the first film.

Firstly, this review won't completely ruin the movie for you if you haven't seen it because there are no spoilers in my review (unlike someone elses) Iron Man 2 is a great follow up to the original movie with plenty for Marvel fans, like me, to enjoy! New character additions like Black Widow keep it fresh and War Machine looks awesome! Rourke plays convincing villain Whiplash and RDJ is great as usual. There are a few things in this movie I wouldn't have done personally speaking (mainly involving Stark himself) but still a good solid movie! Building up nicely for The Avengers! Keep it going Marvel! 4 stars based on my opinion that the first Iron Man movie is better! Great soundtrack too!
