Wasn't overly hyped about watching this movie, as not a huge fan of either of the leads, although Clive Owen is getting better with each movie.
Found it to be a fun 2 hours, watching the plot spin in and out on itself. Well made, well acted, one for a rainy night in.
P.S - No way the 1 Star reviews are justified. I'm not sure what those reviewers were expecting.

it's really 'a not bad film' 'worth a watch at least'

i am quite suprised that the film has been 'slated' and not apparently rated, well i've got to say...i enjoyed the movie.
i found it to be a clever plot with several moments of 'dry' humour, which i for one enjoy.
the plot, an agency tries to steal a mystery formula from another for 'great' financial gain.
agents played by 'clive owen' and 'julia roberts' become involved in the exercise, both believing they have the edge on the other, but who is 'playing' who.
when the couple fall for each other they conspire to steal the formula to try and sell for '40' million, but.... do they actually trust each other ?
as well as which are they themselves being 'played' by their respective employers?
i found it flowed pretty well, 'clive owen' unlike recent roles not involved in an action movie and 'nice' to see 'julia roberts' again ( i know she took time out after the birth of her children, not sure to be honest wether or not this is her first movie since ? )
however i do believe it's worth a spin, maybe hire it first, the you can make up your own mind on it...........hope you enjoy it.

 Oh dear.....

Clive Clive Clive Clive Clive, as if Shoot em Up wasn't bad enough, this tops the bill for a raspberry and the director needs..... well to find another job. Plot, rambling, dull and impossible to follow without laughing out loud in disbelief as flashback after flashback plods onto the screen. Acting, mostly terrible, Owen is bad but even julia Roberts might struggle to work again after this performance. The supporting cast were probably glad when shooting wrapped up. 2 hrs of my life I won't see again, what a waste, it's not clever, funny, entertaining, thrilling etc etc etc. AVOID!!

 Self-Indulgent and Disappointing

Duplicity starts off with the promise of intrigue, deception and a taut thriller, what it delivers is wooden acting, poor cinematography and a plot so convoluted that it delivers nothing but sheer boredom. This film was a vehicle for the principle actors to act with total self-indulgence whilst ignoring the needs of the movie-going audience. I saw this film with about 8 other people and 30 minutes in we were looking at each other and shrugging our shoulders. I found it hard to stay awake at the cinema and left disappointed that a movie that promised so much gave so little back... my advice? Avoid at all costs!
