Battlestar Galactica: The Complete Series 1 - 5 Box Set (20 Discs) (Blu-ray)

Watched this when on sky, now watching it on blue ray. Love it, you cant knock the story, though for the price you pay, you would expect better quality packaging, the disc boxes are cheap and flimsey.

YES I WENT THERE!!! It really is, and I loved The Wire.

Dig around the net and you will see that the vast majority of reviews say this series is excellent. I happen to agree with the majority, and personally place it up there with the best sci-fi ever produced.

Some brilliantly dramatic character moments, a story that runs it's course naturally, superbly executed from both a production and actor point of view, I am happy for this to be my first Bluray box set.

I word of note though... although most people loved it, I personally do know a few people that didn't take to it - like with anything I guess. This is a lot of cash to pay without seeing any of it first.

Great package, with lot of interesting bonuses, but the miniserie "The Face of the Enemy" is missing. Probably due to the theme

Well my gosh, I know everyone has their own tastes but to give BSG. 2 or 3 stars. Well as the title states "Stunned". If you've grown up on a diet of star trek, can remember standing in line at the cinema's to see star wars the first time round, know that shiny is better than good and wish you could swear in Chinese, already know that Balthazar's a baddie. Buy this. It is without doubt the new bench mark for all SciFi.

Firstly ill speak about the actual blu-ray boxset:

This has been put onto blu-ray extremely well, excellent picture and sound and the best thing about this is the extended episode of unfinished business in season 3.. And the few extended episodes in season 4.5 (or final season)

I couldnt be more happy about it.

One downside is the packaging is poor.. The tin is quite low quality apart from the indented cylon. And the actual blu-ray cases inside are as cheap as they come. Very brittle plastic in a tight fitted low quality thin cardboard sleeve which you can easily crease or tear. Its a shame as youd expect the best for this pricetag but luckily the contents of this boxset make it all worth it!

Onto the series,

This is the finest bit of television your ever going to see. The acting, grittyness, dark plot, direction and the production are all of the finest quality. I especially love the camera work used and the cgi especially from season 2 onwards is amazing quality. Its just all so emotionally gripping id reccomend this to even non-scifi fans. I even got my girlfriend into bsg and shes not a fan of anything science fiction!

The best TV show in years but why would you buy this? There is a yet a movie to come out in the next year - If you buy this you will have an incomplete collection.

One of the best TV series in years. The Blu-Ray 1080P image is superb and the DTS-HD sound is impressive.

I started to watch BSG after a friend at work told me how much he enjoyed watching it. I bought the mini series to get me started and I must say at first I wasn't convinced that this would be for me.

I then got the first series off of another work college, without giving too much away this really grabbed you when the story line kicked you into the most immersive story writing you could imagine. You ever get the 'just one more' feeling when you watch something you really like? Well I was grabbing episode after episode sometimes using all of the day just watching this brilliant sci-fi show.

This show really had everything, the dark and grim, religion which did play a huge role in this, politics, terroism and light heartedness. You got to know the characters so well that this would litterally have you gripping on for the next plot twist or explanation.

I've been a sci-fi lover for years with Star Trek, Farscape, Firefly and Stargate. This story is one of the best ever told with the power of television. It makes you question what the human race would do in their situation and question all the topics this series covers.

Even after this series finnished I still wanted more. All in all the best sci-fi programme I have ever watched.
