In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry returns for his fifth year of study at Hogwarts and discovers that much of the wizarding community has been denied the truth about his recent encounter with the evil Lord Voldemort. Fearing that Hogwarts' venerable Headmaster, Albus Dumbledore, is lying about Voldemort's return in order to undermine his power and take his job, the Minister for Magic, Cornelius Fudge, appoints a new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher to keep watch over Dumbledore and the Hogwarts students. But Professor Dolores Umbridge's Ministry-approved course of defensive magic leaves the young wizards woefully unprepared to defend themselves against the dark forces threatening them and the entire wizarding community, so at the prompting of his friends Hermione and Ron, Harry takes matters into his own hands. Meeting secretly with a small group of students who name themselves "Dumbledore's Army," Harry teaches them how to defend themselves against the Dark Arts, preparing the courageous young wizards for the extraordinary battle that lies ahead.

Top 100 Books Reviewer

Before I start, one might say that I give 5 stars to everything I review. Maybe so...but then, I only try to buy stuff that appeals to me. So, this was the case with OOTP.

While most of us know the story, which I feel translated FAR better on screen than on paper, I would like to comment about the blu-ray edition of this instalment of the HP saga.

Without a shadow of a doubt, THIS is what BR Discs are all about. Bringing the real magic of the movies into your home. The sets are lavishly constructed, amazing detail being transmitted through to the viewer.

Incredibly sharp images. I cannot believe that this is that good. Absolutely amazing! The content? This is a great movie and the movie extras are nothing short of spectacular.

The cast has now cemented itself into our minds and subsequent readings of the books will bring Daniel,Emma and Rupert right into the words. Maybe Emma Watson needs to calm down a bit, relax, but otherwise, very good.

Rupert Grint has improved immeasurably, together with Evanna Lynch (playing Luna!) who for me, definitely stole the show.

Great story, characters, warmth and of course fun to watch.

Buy this! Clear? Right...next!

This film was made for Blu Ray! Epic picture quality and sound!
The part where Harry is up in front of the Council is just mind blowing in picture quality, I use this to show off Blu Ray to people who doubt the quality BR can offer.
ok the acting is not Oscar winning standard but this is a film the whole family can sit down and watch together.
The characters are developing and I think over all this film is worthy of any collection.
