 cinematic masterpiece

In my opinion this is a much better film than 127 hours.
I cared that the lead actor should live or die. Visually they are both great films but if you don't engage with the person portrayed then the film has failed. This one worked for me.

 Awesome Movie

This is the sort of movie that I would call an EXPERIENCE movie.
It's good on so many levels, Story, Inspiration, Acting, Directing, Message and so on.
One of the most though provoking films I've ever seen.
Where on earth Emile Hirsch's Oscar nomination went, I have no idea. Shocking.
Sean Penn's Direction is Perfect for the story.
Each and Everyone of the Supporting Cast is Wonderful.

 powerful and emotional masterpiece

this film is easily in my top 5 movies of all time, maybe even my greatest. The cast is perfect, the script is perfect, the use of sources taken from the original tale of chris mccandless' travels are used with the upmost respect and care, the soundtrack (written and performed by pearl jam's eddie vedder) is AMAZING, and the film does what all good films should do, which is leave you thinking about it and feeling attached for a very very long time. After i watched the film i immediately ordered both the movies soundtrack and the book. I was breath taken.

Stunning visuals, realistic and fascinating story! Although it´s quite long, the story-line kept me intrigued all the way through. I wasn´t really aware of the fact that this is a true story, but i kinda realised along the way - Simply amazing. Well worth the watch for anyone that EVER in their lives thought about the simplicity of nothing but wilderness surrounding them... See it! Eddie Vedder (of pearl jam) delivers a majestetic soundtrack for your enjoyment as well :D

not only a great story, the visuals are really something. I saw this film early 2008, was definetly the best film i saw that year.
