I had wanted to see this film since it first came out and finally got round to watching it this week and all I can say is this film deserves all the hype it has got so far as it is for me the best film I have seen this year so far hands down.
The plot is brilliant and the characters are all fantastic, I love the way the film is shot it has a very similar feel to Kill Bill with the death and the action scenes.
Nicolas Cage was brilliant as Big Daddy he is one of my favourite actors and it was nice to see him back on form in a role that suited him perfectly.
I am not going to spoil this amazing film for you by telling you anything about the plot all I am going to say is you have to see this film it is amazing and is the best film of 2010 so far.

Yes,the film ticks all the right boxes in the entertainment category.
It tells of a teenager who loves comic-book heroes wondering why they don't exsist in real-life.
He sets himself up, buying a costume and despite not really fitting the role becomes 'kick-ass'
He soon finds the role beyond him, however after a serious injury that affects his nerve-ends, along with a few replacement bits, he no longer feels pain, he try's again to be the super-hero and soon gains internet fame.
He finds that he's not alone in the super-hero stakes as he meets up with an ex-cop and young daughter ( known as 'big daddy' and 'hit-girl' ) who are on a revenge mission against a 'high profile' gang boss who destroyed 'big daddy's family and career.
I guess you would call this movie 'wickedly' funny, guns a blazing along with some neat moves from the 'young' 'hit-girl' this is one of the year's must-see movies.
If you like tongue-in-cheek humour don't miss also---'cop out' and 'the spy next door' this and those two will give you plenty to smile about ( all three available on this format soon )

This film is hilarious and genus all the way to the bloody end in a maner of speaking. I loved it! As a person/man who has read the graphic novel as well I say that it follows it pretty much to the frame the only difference is the hair colour and pffft that doesnt matter to me. I am really really looking forward to the sequal which is definatly coming. So there is no dout that this film is a MUST SEE! well worth the price, hitgirl is a great character, seeing her swear and beat all the bad guys to a pulp is just awesome vewing, Nic Cage who plays Big Daddy plays an excellent role one of his best, don't be put off by him. Get it. One of the best films this year.

 Very Very Enjoyable

Was telling people that I was gonna watch this movie as it looked like a FUN movie, and it was just that.
Really enjoyed the movie on all levels. Even though it did get a bit darker in the 2nd half.
Love the way the violence was very violent, not comic booky style, and the language was very colourful.
The story started a touch slow, like all Super Hero movies, but was needed to build up an understanding of the characters.
Once the Story kicked in, it was pretty much non stop Action and Dilemmas all the way.
You really could not predict what would happen.
The Characters and Acting was First Rate. Top Marks going to Chloe Moretz as the Awesome Hit Girl, Nicolas Cage as the Goofy Big Daddy and Mark Strong as the Villain of the piece, he is playing the Bad Guy in a lot of Movies nowadays, but always brings something new to the table each time and is Very Watchable. The Other Cast members, Playing Kick Ass and Red Mist were fine, but were not really the Stars of the show.
I also like the way the movie summed up the way some teenagers are invisible and JUST EXIST.
Big Respect to Director Matthew Vaughan, he could have just joined the Hollywood Directors Conveyer Belt of making any old Nonsense, but has stuck his neck out, early in his career and hopefully this will be his calling card.

Perhaps The Best Film Of 2009?

A truly oddball movie, that is wildly contradictory; It's extremely violent, nasty and shocking at times, yet funny and touching at others. How on earth does this film make the C word acceptable? Because it does! The acting is excellent as is every other aspect of the film. It's highly original and extremely entertaining. The music towards the end of the film helps to build a superb atmosphere. A must see. Without a doubt one of the best films I have seen for a while. Brilliant and very, very highly recommended.
