Adapted from the popular series of children's books by Kathryn Lasky, Guardians Of Ga'Hoole finds a group of barn owls facing an evil that wants to destroy their forest and so must fight together to keep their home.

While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father's favor from his younger sibling. But Kludd's jealousy has terrible consequences-causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga'Hoole-Soren's only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

the animation is indeed impressive to be honest 'awsome'
the continued inprovement in the quality of the graphics has been rapid.
the film itself is really quite 'dark' which i believe should be watched under a level of caution in respect of younger members of the family, some scenes could prove upsetting for some.
the story tells of two brothers who, during a youthful squabble are abducted by 'the pure ones'
'kludd' is impressed by the talk of the 'pure ones' while 'soren' wants to escape and find the 'guardians' their father had told them about and hope to persuade them to help rescue his brother and the other owls that had been kidnapped.
it is a family film which is highly watchable, however as said earlier it is 'dark'

 Strangely Effective and Entertaining

I wanted to see this film, but can't say that I was excited about seeing it. It looked stunning, and Zack Snyder was helming. But I didn't expect much from the story.

In fact, the film was fantastic. I never expected to watch some so great. Yes, the animation is fantastic, and stands against Pixar with a fighting chance. But, the film is so well made. Great Australian cast, with some British too, makes this a little different than all the American Animated films.

This was a fun watch, and really entertaining.

I hope Snyder stays on for the sequel...it could use his touch.

I was really looking forward to seeing this film after reading that it was from the team that produced the fabulous Happy Feet. The quality of the graphics is superb but the makers of this one made what I think is the worst mistake possible by assuming everyone in the audience had read the books as nothing was explained. For instance, how does looking at the moon turn the owls into zombies? What are those flecks that the slaves have to collect from the pellets? How are those flecks creating that awesome power? I'm sure the people who have read the books know all the answers but I'd never heard of them until I saw the film and what I saw didn't make me want to go to the bookshop and look for them. I've read that the film is all three books squeezed into just over 90 minutes so I'm not surprised it has a hurried feel to it. It could have been the great epic it deserves to be if they'd filmed it one book at a time.

This has to be one of my best animated films so far. Bought this for the little one but haven't let him watch all of it because its quit dark in some places. However I have watch it all afew times and I highly recommend this film for adults and children. But like I said earlier 'its dark in some places'. Everything about this film is amazing! Must buy, you won't be disappointed.

 Must watch film :)

Saw the first few funky advertisement boards at the cinema and first thought was "I want one of those epic owls". I dragged my boyfriend to come see it with me and of course he was all against it because the trailer for it i must admit wasn't exactly jumping off the screen material, but the animation was very catching. I will not spoil the film and tell you what went on in it but my own reaction was this:

OMG, really breath taking animations and the attention to detail was out of this world! The story line was sort of predictable but lots of twists to keep you guessing :) I really want a pet owl. And as for the boyfriend he really enjoyed the film which was suprising considering he was completely against it. I would recomment it to anyone as a good movienight film (especially for those who love owls!)
