Up In The Air (Blu-ray)

Had been looking forward to watching this since it was first released and showered with praise.
The film is a Solid Mature Dramedy. It is Clever, Witty and Well Written
The Acting is Relaxed and Confident.
Clooney oozes class throughout, when he first appears he seems like some kind of Frequent Flyer Superhero.
But different layers of his character soon appear.
Vera Farmiga and Anna Kenderick were also good in their parts. Jason Bateman was wasted though.
I like the story, especially the Job that Clooney's character has, it was interesting to see a glimpse of that world. And scary.
Credit to Clooney for reading the script and saying yeah let's do this, bit of a risky proposition in the current World Climate.
The locations used were good and not your usual glossy fare.
Overall this is a bit of a Marmite movie, as some people I've spoken to hate it.
I found it a good watch but it is far too Over Rated and Over Praised.

lightly over-hyped film showing the lonely life of a middle aged business man. good acting and script but nothing spectacular. a few funny moments and a few sad ones. nice but forgetable.

Australia had it's moment for the women when Hugh takes a gratuitous shower in the outback watched by an unsuspecting Nicole Kidman. Well, it has been well and truly topped! Fabulous view is all I will say but watch the film for this and much more asides. I was really pleasantly surprised by this movie on lots of fronts. It was what is said on the tin but the perfomances were excellent, the story kept interest even though it seemed it was going to be difficult and the result was highly enjoyable. Is it a stand out that will rock future generations? Probably not, it wasn't THAT clever, but I would buy it and enjoy watching it again at some point and watching one point again and again....!

Avatar may have had all the special effects, and Hurt Locker may have hit the mark with the Oscars voters (they love that type of film)... but for me "Up in the air" was the film of the year. Great story... great charaters... with great heart. Brilliant film!

I really enjoyed this film, George Clooney was fabulous and i'm not usually a fan. I was slightly dispointed by the ending but generally a good film worth watching.
