This an excellent to start to the Harry Potter film series. The acting in this film isn't exactly amazing but I think it shows how the kids age through each film. It's got a fab gripping storyline thanks to J.K Rowling. The film makers obviously couldn't get eveything into the film that was in the book but I think they've done an amazing job picking out what should and what shouldn't be in it.

        The book is easily better.
The special effects are rubbish, the kids can't act yet, and I just didn't like it that much.
If you hadn't read the book yet, you might like this, but if you read the book first, you will realize how bad it is, but in some places it makes up for it's faults.

I really love this first Harry Potter film, I can watch it over and over again and not get bored with any part of it. Having read all the books I was very interested to see how they created the Harry Potter world and it's exactly how I pictured it. The attention to detail is amazing. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint do a fantastic job here. The film is quite long, especially for a family film but that was to be expected as the book contains so much detail. This is a film for all the family to enjoy!

The magic is brought to life!

When i first heard they were bringing the fantastic world of Harry Potter to our screens i was abit sceptical that i would no longer be able to read the books without picturing the characters from the films, but then i got excited! The books have been brought to life in such a fantastic way, the visuals in this film are stunning! First arriving at Hogwarts is so exciting, the special effects are brilliant, and the youngsters do a great job with the acting! The film itself is rather lengthy but that is to be expected with the attention to detail regarding the books themselves. This is a brilliant film for all the family and a must have for any Harry fans!
The extras are also great, theres deleted scenes, a virtual tour of hogwarts, trailers, and games, and lots of extras if you put the disc into your pc! Definately worth buying the 2 disc version if your a hardcore harry fan!!
