Wong Fei Hung (Jackie Chan) is sent to train under his uncle, a wine-guzzling master famous for crippling his students. Desperate to escape this brutal teacher's cruel regime, he flees, but is confronted, humiliated and beaten senseless by a hired assassin (Hwang Jang Lee). Angry, ashamed, hungry for revenge, the wayward Fei Hung returns to his drunken master...

The second collaboration between director Yuen Wo Ping and Jackie Chan was a huge box-office hit. A mind-bending blend of madcap martial arts action and demented slapstick, "Drunken Master" ushered in the new genre of comedy kung-fu and established Chan as its uncontested king.

 Fantastic Kung Fu Comedy

I must have watched this DVD every week since I bought it, it is that good.

Jackie Chan plays a young upstart whos mischevious ways get him sent to his uncle for rehabilitation. The story is interesting and very funny, but the martial arts combat is extremly good and many times hilarious.

It is an excellent place to start if you are looking for a good DVD of martial arts and comedy mixed together.

You could do a lot worse things than buy this DVD.

drunken master is the film that brought jackie stardom and well deserved it was.this is a classic in everyway.the screenplay.and the fight choreography by yuen woo ping who also directed the film is world class.jackie does all his own stunts and film goes a long at brisk pace.there are 2 versions of this film.the hong kong legends is the best version with extras and good dubbing and there is a version by sony pictures which is the same.but the dubbing isnt very good.a true gem of a film

Jackie Chan's earlier movies are the best. Much better than the later ones that he has done and Drunken master is pure class. This film has loads of action scenes that amazes you. Great story line and funny. This DVD is in mandarin but has English subtitles. A film that you will watch again and again. A Jackie Chan Classic!!

 one of Chan's early greats!!

Jackie Chan plays a young Wong Fei-Hung normally played by Jet Li in numerous films. This film shows off Chan's incredile talent from his early career, from the brutal training scenes to the amazing fight sequences (especially the climax). A definate must own for any Chan fan or fan of the Wong Fei-Hung stories.
