Star Wars: Clone Wars will be an expansion and continuation of the similarly-named 2003 TV series which picked up where the theatrical feature Star Wars: Episode II: Attack of the Clones left off, as an epic civil war rages. It will feature the various conflicts between the Galactic Republic, led by Supreme Chancellor Palpatin, and the Confederacy of Independent Systems, led by Count Dooku and General Grievous.

 Better than expected

I love Star Wars, but I didn't expect a lot from this one. But then, it turned out a lot better than I had dared to hope for. At times it was very funny indeed, and even though the story isn't waterproof, it works. It's probably meant for a younger audience, but I think it was very entertaining nonetheless. The plot: Anakin and Obi-Wan (and Anakin's new padawan), after leading the clones in a battle against the separatists on some remote planet, has to rescue the son of Jabba the Hutt from his kidnappers as to get Jabba's support in the war. Within the fighting sequences there is a lot of humor, for instance in the dialogue between the separatist droids, and in the relation between Anakin and his padawan. The animation (the very look of the characters, and such) is based on the Clone Wars tv-series, and even though the humans seem a little weird at first, one gets used to it, and when it comes to it, the animation is amazing. I really enjoyed the movie! Recommended for every fan of Star Wars.

 EXTENDED PILOT EPISODE.

I agree with the reviewers below and feel that some of the criticism levelled at this movie is unfair. This movie is basically an extended intro for the TV Series (aimed at a younger audience) and not a detailed telling of the Clone Wars in its entirety. I've also read complaints about the animation being blocky, but in my opinion it looks great and the style was obviously deliberate. Bottom line: Young kids will love it, older Star Wars fans will like it'll be lost on everyone else.

Good start to a new animated series

The main thing to mention about this movie, is that it is not a new Star Wars movie as you know it. The main reason why many people did not like this is because I think they were expecting a normal Star Wars feature for adults and kids just like the recent the prequel movies. However, this is more of a feature length pilot episode for the upcoming animated kids TV show. If you watch the movie with that in mind, then I think you will enjoy it. There is a lot more slapstick & general comedy with many new characters aimed specifically at the kids. There was also a lot of critiscm at the music and start of the film, but again if you take it as a new TV series then I think it works really, it doesn't if you expect it to be a new movie. To summarise, as a pilot to a new excellent TV show based on the Star Wars universe I think this works really well.

Once you get over the fact that this is actually a CGI movie, and stop comparing it to the much loved movies, and keeping in mind that this is a flash pilot for the forth coming TV series, there is much to enjoy out of this movie. The CGI is good, and although getting used to the new look characters is a obsticle, but it is well detailed, but nothing that PIXAR should be worried about. Also the film features new voices trying to mimic the likes of Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christenson, but a welcom return of the voice talents of Christopher Lee and Samuel L.Jackson do add class. The plot may be slight, with the abduction of Jabba's infant son, by Dukoo and the seperatist's to control the outer rim shipping lanes, and some of the characters names grate, Jabba's son's nickname "Stinky" being the worst offender, also some of the lighter jokey moments fall flat, But what really makes this movie work is the amazing action sequences, as the film is full of them. The pace of the film is never flagging, and although it really should have been a real life film, anybody who is eager to see the next installment of the space saga should enjoy every minute. Just don't compare it to the live action movies.
Good Fun!
