Moving from America to Hong Kong, young Chun-Li is trained to be a consummate concerto pianist and mastered in the ancient art of self-defence by her father. But her idyllic childhood is shattered after her father is kidnapped by evil crime lord Bison and his ruthless gang of assassins.

Many years later Chun-Li has become an accomplished pianist. After the death of her mother, the arrival of a strange, ancient Chinese scripture and a violent incident involving a man with a spider tattoo, Chun-Li realises her true destiny and begins a quest that goes beyond revenge. Using the strength of a warrior, the stealth of a predator and the wisdom of a master, Chun-Li will save her father and unleash an unstoppable rage upon those who have done her wrong. Starring Kristin Kreuk (Smallville's Lana Lang) in her most explosive film.

As a big street fighter fan I was looking forward to this film, the new video game was awesome and lived up to everything the fans wanted! so i was hoping the film would too, but its no where near as good as the game, its a good film dont get me wrong, but dosnt hit the spot for fans, the action is limited, the use of characters is limited and the story is average, you could look at this as the start of a series of films though, which hopefully will get better. Kristin Kreuk was nice as chun-li and displayed one use of powers a single fireball at the end of the film. Bison was a good character, but never really displayed much power, vega was the most disapointing character he wasnt used alot and the mask was no where near even as good as the one in the original SF movie with van damme in it. overall its not a bad movie, bit of popcorn fun for the average movie watcher but dont expect much if your a hardcore fan, could have been alot lot better.

 Memories....

Although the film is really aimed at teenage boys, it is watchable but the plot is a bit thin. What I really liked is recalling all the characters, Vega, M Bison... but no E Honda which is a bit disappointing.

 words fail me.

This movie shouldnt have been made, the story was dire, the action pointless, infact the movie was pointless, who the hell o.k'd this for production needs to be sent to the dole que, its an absolute $%^Pfest, from start to near the end.(couldnt force myself to watch any more ) avoid this movie like a tramp on a night bus, i am writing the the studio, they owe me an hour of my life back.

I'm being a bit generous with this rating...

Street-fighter fans everywhere were let down by this movie. For a film entitled Street-Fighter, there's hardly any fighting at all, and the character work is atrocious.

But is this the worst film ever made? Hardly. It's by far the best, or in anyway average, but I dig Chun-Li, and she's portrayed solidly enough to hold your attention (mostly down to Miss Kreuk). As for the rest of the film, it dives from laugh worthy to cringe worthy, sometimes within the same scene. Bison grew up in China, right, but has an Irish accent!!

I would have forgiven all if its mishaps had they got one thing right: Chun-Li VS Vega. If you're a fan of the franchise, I'm sure you're aware of the animated film and the fight that became almost the staple of the franchise between Vega and Chun-Li. It's a mind blowing couple of minutes, with more action, development, humour and violence than this film in its entirety.

But no. In fact, their worst crime of all IS the fight between both legendary fighters. It's woeful, woeful stuff. It's about 10 seconds long. And the dialogue is truly inspired, he said sardonically. 'I will cut you' - yes, that's his final line. Genius, right?

Overall, it's bargain basement stuff. It would be Mr. Guilty Pleasure's guilty pleasure. If you have not seen the animated film, I seriously recommend it for a great action adventure.
