This is writing, acting and comic timing at it's best. Have enjoyed a lot of other comedy shows but nothing comes close to the magic of Basil Fawlty and co. Reason it's so good is beacuse everithing is invested into just 12 episodes, rather than making loads of unnecassary episodes just for the cash. Bravo

Fawlty towers, is possibly the funniest british comedy there has ever been. And the only real shame is that there were only ever 12 made.

This new version has been remastered by the BBC and although it isn't a vast improvement (you can't create more pixels at the end of the day) it is certainly better. If you don't own fawlty towers or don't yet own it on DVD, then it's certainly worth the upgrade.

I have all twelve episodes on DVD and on tape. I watch Fawlty Towers over and over again and never get bored. The script AND the acting are top notch. Many times I discover some little detail that I missed in previous viewing; be sure you watch the title for funny spelling!

Fawlty Towers is one of the best comedy shows to be shown on television. John Cleese is brilliant as Basil, can't think of someone better suited for the role. Would recommend for any fan of comedy. Can watch over and over again and still laugh at every episode. Must buy!!

There are few comedies around of the calibur of this show. John cleese is an uptight, very neurotic hotel owner who bad luck just keeps happening to. He and his inept staff are hilarious but thoroughly incapable of carrying out the simplist of tasks. Manuel the bus boy/waiter is a particular highlight. There are some classic episodes like the infamous german episode and the episode with the dead body. A classic that few come close to
