The Terminator (1984): In this blazing, cinematic comic book, Arnold Schwarzenegger is perfectly cast as the fiercest and most relentless killing machine ever to threaten the survival of mankind! From the Oscar winning director of Titanic this fast-paced, cleverly conceived, rip roaring action adventure fires an arsenal of thrills, intriguing plot twists and heart-stopping suspense that never lets up for a minute!

In 2029, giant super-computers dominate the planet, hell-bent on exterminating the human race! And to destroy man's future by changing the past, they send an indestructible cyborg - a Terminator - back in time to kill Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), the woman whose unborn son will become mankind's only hope. Can Sarah protect herself from this unstoppable menace to save the life of her unborn child? Or will the human race be extinguished by one mean hunk of mutant metal?

The Terminator 2 (1991): The Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), a cyborg sent back through time, joins forces with Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton), a woman haunted by nightmares of mankind's inevitable nuclear destiny. Together, they must protect her son John (Edward Furlong) - the boy destined to lead the freedom fighters of the future - from the deadliest machine ever created, the liquid metal T-1000 (Robert Patrick).

The Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines (2003): A decade has passed since John Connor (Nick Stahl) helped prevent Judgment Day and save mankind from mass destruction. Now 22, Connor lives "off the grid" - no home, no credit cards, no cell phone and no job. No record of his existence. No way he can be traced by Skynet - the highly developed network of machines that once tried to kill him and wage war on humanity. Until... ...out of the shadows of the future steps the T-X (Kristanna loken), Skynet's most sophisticated cyborg killing machine yet. Sent back through time to complete the job left unfinished by her predecessor, the T-1000, this machine is as relentless as her human guise is beautiful. Now Connor's only hope for survival is the Terminator (Arnold Schwarzenegger), his mysterious former assassin. Together, they must triumph over the technologically superior T-X and forestall the looming threat of Judgment Day...or face the apocalypse and the fall of civilization as we know it.

Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins (2009): Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

This is a great value box-set, that will make a great gift for the dads. There is no point in me re-treading the plots of these movies as if you are a fan you wil know them like the back of your hand.

THE TERMINATOR 1984
The clothes, music and crappy 80's dancing as seen in the
Tech Noir night club scene may have dated, but the story, and thrills a still as fresh as 25 years ago.
*****
TERMINATOR 2 JUDGEMENT DAY 1991.
The effects are just as amazing as they were in 1991, Director Cameron expands the story he started in the original movie, and includes some of the best action sequences ever put to screen, this was the best action movie of the 90's if not one of the best action movies and sequels of all time!
*****
TERMINATOR 3:RISE OF THE MACHINES 2003
Cameron did not return to direct this third chapter, instead we get the director of the WWII submarine romp U-571. With Cameron missing this film fails to live up to the previouse two, and is an almost blue print of T2, but only half as good. Although the action is at times good, and the down beat ending is great, the film cannot help from feeling like a TV movie.
It's not as bad as fans say, but after waiting 12 years for the next chapter T3 is still a crushing disappointment!
***
TERMINATOR SALVATION 2009
Director Mc G almost puts the series back on track, with the bleak scorched earth setting being as much a character in the film as the actors. Christian Bale makes a good John Conner, as he fights the proto-type killing machines that have haunted him from a child.
It may not be nowhere near as good as the first two movies, but is a damn sight better than part 3.
****

It's only T3 that lets this excellent pakage down, but at this price, who could argue?

The first two Terminator movies are truley amazing in my opinion (Terminator-8/10, Termintor 2- 9/10), with the third being pretty good (Terminator 3 - 7/10) . The fourth installment however was just awful. It really doesnt feel like a Terminator movie. It started off boring, and in the middle got even worse but the ending was not different at all......actually it was rubbish. But thats my opinion, if you like alot of special effects and situations where normal people would die easily then you will like it.

first and foremost the story line in this is just pure amazing .

The Terminator - the storyline is what i think made this big ..as people wondered what happened in the future .....this movie made Arni hit the spot light and a word wide known Actor and the classic line "ill be back" is still used by many around the word ..effects were ok for its time ...the story lines shines mostly in this movie ****(4)

Terminator 2 judgment day - Arni being known a action hero by this stage they had too make them play the good guy lol more money means more effects and they are outstanding for its time ....still set in the past and same sort of story as the first one (back in time) its very rare that a second movie beats the first but it does Edward Furlong does well as John C... *****(5)

Terminator rise of the machines: with the director gone and Edward Furlong could they match the first two the answer is no....dont get me wrong the stroyline is the same with a few different bits added and the action and effects are good it just lacks the Terminator feels as you had with the first two ...*** (3)

Terminator Salvation: now we move on from the time sending Terminators storyline and move into when the machines just start taking over and you see the first model with Skin (well done i might add) if you remember at the start of Terminator movies it showed you John C in the future as a leader it shows a scar and this movie show you how he gets it ...but people complain the role of Bale as John as he does not so any emotion(happy) or was not like the personality of John in the second movie ..but if you remeber both times it showed you john in the future in the previous movies he was a stern looking guy and didnt not look a happy man ...so i think this was the way they intended john to end up like ...so i think Bale was amazing but Sam was outstanding as the half Machine and half human ...the storyline is pretty good as its the war now , and the effects are just fantastic it ties in with the other movies IE Guns and Roses and "come with me if you want to live" and its good to see kyle Reese again does it live up with without Arni ( excluding the cgi part) and the answer is yes , the movie has a more dark feel to it and amazing acting and finally the start of the war and is defo on power with the second one,...Just think that people should lay of Bale cause i do think that is the way John C is meant to be in the War *****(5)

Terminator 1
The Terminator movie is just one of those movies that theres not really any point picking faults in.
Quite simply because it is a All Time SciFi Action Classic.
Its got Brilliant Story, Spot on performances from Arnie, Michael Bien and Lind Hamilton.
The direction is assured and shows glimpses of what James Cameron would do in the future.
Some of the effects look a touch dated, but nothing to tragic.
Defo worth watching this and following it up with the even better Part 2, the below par Part 3 and the new Salvation Movie. 5 STARS.

Terminator 2
One of the Best Sequels of all time, much better than the Classic Original, which really is saying something.
The reason the movie is so special is due to a few factors, the foremost one being the amazing Special Effects, using the Technology to Morph Humans and Objects.
It really revolutionized everything.
Another reason is that they really worked on the story, otherwise anyone can make a movie with Action and SFX. The story really takes you on an Intriguing, Intense and very Adventurous journey, with hardly any pointless moments.
The ACTION Sequences are Mind Blowing even in 2010, in 1991 when I watched this at the Cinema, they literally made my jaw Drop.
The Motorbike and Truck chase has in my opinion not been bettered since, the One Hand Shotgun reload that Arnie does during the sequence, makes you wanna break into applause, it really is that cool. The Shoot Out at the end is brilliantly choreographed.
The Music also plays a big part in the movie and adds a very real sense of menace, and I'm not just referring to the Iconic Theme Tune.
Coming to the performances, everyone is Perfectly Cast. Arnie is not the best actor in the world, but this is his best performance.
Linda Hamilton is just pure Badness, her attitude, her acting, her body, the works, she is a total revelation compared to the first movie.
Edward Furlong is perfectly cast as the awkward but in the know Teen. Robert Patrick is terrifying real as the all Morphing emotionless machine.
But I think the person who deserves the most credit is Director James Cameron, who has tried to push the boundaries of technology with every film he has made.
He is not the sort of director that waits for the technology, he actually goes out and invents it.
Terminator 2 is clearly the best movie in the Terminator Quadrilogy, and remains in my Top 5 Action Movies of All time. 5 STARS

Terminator 3
Didnt like this movie when I saw it at the cinema, just didn't have the Intimate Moments that the first 2 movies had. The movie is not really bad, if you watch the trailer for it, it looks a blast, its just that its nowhere near as good as the first 2, in terms of Action, Imagination or Story.
The direction is OK, the Action set pieces seemed to be patched together and feel that they could belong to any Action movie. The acting is ok, everyone does their bit. For me it was just general disappointment.
3 STARS

Terminator 4 - Salvation
This new Movie about the Terminator world brings the story Full Circle .
The Apocalyptic setting, was well designed, and reminded me a little of Mad Max and the landscape of The Book of Eli
The highlight of the movie for me though was the Stunning Action Sequences, which were blended in with Exquisite Special Effects.
Especially loved the Machine Motorbikes. Anyways, a good watch, especially for Terminator fans
I guess the best way to enjoy this film is to set realistic expectations, About time we understand that any Terminator movie without James Cameron, and now without Arnie, is never gonna be as good as the First 2 movies. Except it and enjoy Terminator Salvation for what it is. 3 STARS
