Downton Abbey: Series 1 Box Set (3 Discs)

At first when I saw this I did not think I was going to like it I thought it would be boring and uninteresting but by the time the first episode had ended it was brillant much better than I thought and the acting is great.

Downton Abbey is a 2010 British television period drama series, produced by British media company Carnival Films. It was created and principally written by the great Oscar-winning writer Julian Fellowes.

Set in the fictional Downton Abbey, the stately home of the Earl of Grantham, early in the reign of King George V, during the two years prior to the Great War, it follows the lives of the aristocratic Crawley family and their servants.

It is reported to be the most successful British period drama since Brideshead Revisited and although there is good attention to detail, it gives a very romantacised view of aristocratic life both above and below stairs.

Only saw a couple of episodes while it was on television, but liked what I saw! Once I got the dvd, I was hooked!!!! There are so many characters that you love or dislike, and the plot to the story is very good! Really can't wait for season 2!

TV Platinum !! Not to be missed, great acting, great photography and that music ....Sheer heaven.

What a fabulous DVD set this is for what was the best thing to come on television in 2010. This boxset looks great on the shelf and features all seven episodes of Downton Abbey season one.
