Roddy is a decidedly upper-crust "society mouse" who lives the life of a beloved pet in a posh Kensington flat. When a sewer rat named Sid comes spewing out of the sink and decides he's hit the jackpot, Roddy schemes to rid himself of the pest by luring him into the "whirlpool." Sid may be an ignorant slob, but he's no fool, so it is Roddy who winds up being flushed away into the bustling sewer world of Ratropolis. There Roddy meets Rita, an enterprising scavenger who works the sewers in her faithful boat, the Jammy Dodger. Roddy immediately wants out, or rather, up; Rita wants to be paid for her trouble; and, speaking of trouble, the villainous Toad - who royally despises all rodents equally, making no distinction between mice and rats - wants them iced...literally. The Toad dispatches his two hapless hench-rats, Spike and Whitey, to get the job done. When they fail, the Toad has no choice but to send to France for his cousin - that dreaded mercenary, Le Frog.

Anything Ardman touches is entertainment gold!
This film is so funny, I laughed from the get go. The creative characters are fantastic with IAn Mckellans and Jean Rennos Frogs being espically great! Hugh Jackman and Kate Winslet as always prove to be actors of their generations.

Im not goin to spoil the plot. Check this film out if you like smart layered comedy (that kids can enjoy aswell) instead of the crap we are generally exposed to....

 A Rip-Roaring Rat Tail!!!!!!!!

I was a bit worried about watching this film as it did not do so well in the cinemas but it turned out I was laughing from start to finish!!!!

There was so much to enjoy about this film, children will love it as well as adults. It has that same quircky English humour that the wallace and grommit films have, and although it is not filmed in the same way as the before films mentioned it still looks increadable.

The cast is excellent, the story is fantastic and the laughs just keep on coming.

I cant really think of anything bad to say about this film so I dont understand why it didnt do well in the cinemas, lets hope it does a little better on DVD.

Enjoy this fun-filled adventure with your children, or even if you dont have any this film will not disappoint.

Best animated film of the year (so far)

I took my six-year-old son to the cinema to see this, and unlike during many of the latest animated movies, we were both laughing out loud. Mainly at the all-singing, all-dancing slugs! There is a lot of typical Aardman humour in there, and while the animation is nowhere near as endearing as the stop motion used in Wallace and Gromit, the film is just as entertaining. And on the DVD you get some extra performances from the slugs - what more could you ask for?

Top 100  Reviewer Top 100 DVD Reviewer

Despite this animated movie being yet another one of many based on talking animals, Flushed Away doesn't try too hard to be funny by steamrolling pop culture into the story. It is funny in other ways, such as its use of slap stick, clever dialogue and various sight gags.

The voice work is good here, I wouldnt have even known that Hugh Jackman was Roddy had it not been written on the DVD case. He really doesnt sound like his usual self here but that only tells you that he has worked hard when lending his vocals to this character.

The show stealer for me are the sewer slugs. They pop up every know and again in the film singing or doing sound effects and it is perfect timing everytime!

This film is clever and appealing for both children and adults. Another top class film from Aardman Animations
