In Pixar's new animated-adventure, Ratatouille, a rat named Remy dreams of becoming a great French chef despite his family's wishes and the obvious problem of being a rat in a decidedly rodent-phobic profession. When fate places Remy in the sewers of Paris, he finds himself ideally situated beneath a restaurant made famous by his culinary hero, Auguste Gusteau. Despite the apparent dangers of being an unlikely - and certainly unwanted - visitor in the kitchen of a fine French restaurant, Remy's passion for cooking soon sets into motion a hilarious and exciting rat race that turns the culinary world of Paris upside down.

Remy finds himself torn between his calling and passion in life or returning forever to his previous existence as a rat. He learns the truth about friendship, family and having no choice but to be who he really is, a rat who wants to be a chef.

Despite a faltering start and a central by-the-numbers plot, this is still a very enjoyable film with plenty of brilliant touches. Essentially a feel-good movie, it easily achieves what it set out to accomplish. Although for a film about a talking rat, the ability to suspend disbelief has never been so important. Despite all this, it comes together wonderfully at the end - definitely up there with the best of Pixar.

This is what the movies is all about. It's these films that separates Pixar from any other studio of our time.
Firstly you have to watch this at the cinema to not only hear the laughter of children but also of Adults.
This is pure family entertainment. Visual it is warm and bright and leaves you glowing. As for the characters they original and realistic. But it is the overall story that makes this film a masterpiece. It is funny, original, action packed and just plain brilliant!
Going for every possible pun, Pixar have cooked up a recipe for success with Ratatouille. And all the finest ingredients have been added to make one delightful movie (Sorry, I couldn't help myself).

I can never find a fault with a pixar movie and thats the same here. The animation is absolutley brilliant as per usual but its the fact that every movie Pixar does something completely new. All their ideas are original and flawless! A perfect movie for anyone to enjoy!

 Too Good For The Kids

This has to be Pixar's most sophisticated film yet with it's keenly observed working practices of the restaurants kitchen and rather less childish story. I went to see this in London in November and the children in the audience were being taken out by their parents and not returning. I however, was rivetted. Anton Ego has to be the best and most underused character ever. In his own words "I want some bloody perspective" This film gives us perspective in bucketloads

 One for the kids

A lighthearted culinary comedy...the first ever rat chef enters the world here approaching with a somewhat optimistic outlook on life and the dreaded humans, determined to make it in the big time how will one small rat become Paris's greatest ever chef, maybe with the help of a dimwitted kitchen cleaner...a good few laughs however the most part of the humour is aimed at kids..
