78-year-old Carl Fredricksen has always dreamed of seeing the rainforests of South America. To achieve this, Carl comes up with the spectacular scheme of tying thousands of balloons to his house and floating around the world. However, upon take-off he realises he has a stowaway; Russell, an 8 year old who has the same intrepid instinct as Carl.

This is probably the most emotive Pixar created so far, a stunning mixture of complete fantasy and the most human reality. There is nothing typical here, even if it may seem another "gruff old man turned soft by kid in need of Father figure" it is leagues above.

The best part of "Up" for me is the jokes you don't see coming, the little quips they've added for the adults in the audience as well as the laugh out loud moments for the children (usually involving the brilliantly thought out talking dog Doug). The animation is certainly no let down, but the film doesn't need to rely on only the visual quality to...excuse the pun...float on high.

This film brought many a tear to my eye, both happy and sad, I would recommend to anyone.

I have to say I was apprehensive about this film from the start, I dont know why but something about me just didnt want to watch it. But my girlfriend talked to me into it one night, so I just had to.

And I must say, I dont know what I was holding back on.

This is one of the best films I have seen all year, brilliantly put together with a great storyline fantastic animation and just general humour the whole way through.

It had me in fits of laughter. My Girlfriend in tears at several points. And when the film looks like its about to end there is that little bit more to give you that all needed extra. Thoroughly enjoyable 5/5 Recommend for all the Family!

Pixar just keep on going up & up in the world of animation.

Carl and Russell make a great double act in this most excellent animated film which is full of imagination. There are crazy dogs that have special collars which enable them to speak and a big dumb bird which likes chocolate. Our unlikely heros go on a nutty adventure in a flying house! Yes "Up" is very funny indeed for adults and children and laugh you will. The main message in "Up" is that it's never to late to live your dreams.

Never has a animated film gave you such a emotional punch in the gut as this breathtaking movie does in the first twenty minutes, It's pure genius, and it reduced most of the viewers to tears, apart from me as I swear it was somthing in my eye and I was still recovering from Swine Flu.........Honest!
After this the film settles into a very funny adventure with the best CGI animation I have seen yet. The version I saw was in 3D and it really did draw you into the movie. After the first thirty minutes the fim may not quite live up to the brave emotianal depth previously shown, but it still is superb entertainment. This has to be the best family entertainment of the year.
in a word "BRILLIANT!"
