C.S. Lewis' timeless adventure The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe follows the exploits of the four Pevensie siblings - Lucy, Edmund, Susan and Peter. Set in World War II England the children enter the world of Narnia through a magical wardrobe while playing a game of 'hide-and-seek' in the rural country home of an elderly professor. Once there, the children discover a charming, peaceful land inhabited by talking beasts, dwarfs, fauns, centaurs and giants that has become a world cursed to eternal winter by the evil White Witch, Jadis. Under the guidance of a noble and mystical ruler, the lion Aslan, the children fight to overcome the White Witch's powerful hold over Narnia in a spectacular, climactic battle that will free Narnia from Jadis' icy spell forever.

I had been waiting to see this movie for a long time, being a fan of fantasy films i couldn't wait to see it.
I enjoyed watching this movie, the landscapes and battle scenes really did this film justice but i think what let it down was the fact that i felt some of the scenes made no sense and they were added just to make the film longer.
It maybe because i havn't read the books but the story itself didn't quite make sense to me in the sense that these four children had to fight a war as part of a prophecy.
I felt that the characters wernt developed enough inthat we don't really learn much about the lion or the witch.
To sum it all up, i think that it would probably be best to have a read through the book first to pickup on the key points of the story and to learn more about the characters before throwing yourself at the movie.

 Very Disappointed.

Well this did not live upto expectations. The storyline in the film often doesn't make sense. You don't really get to know any of the characters. Things move too fast. I am a huge fan of the books and believe you should read the book, because it is much much better! Having been disappointed, there are some aspects of the film that are good. Obviously the effects etc. It's worth a watch definitely and I'm sure kids will love it. Just if you're a true fan of the book, it doesn't live up to expectations. Hopefully the new Narnia film will be much much better! :)

A Really Enjoyable Film For All Ages...

Having never read the book, I watched this film with no knowledge of anything Narnian. Having watched the film though, I know all there is to know.

Four children stumble across a magical land called Narnia at the back of a wardrobe. When they get there, they find themselves having to fight and protect Narnia from the White Witch. Edmund (the youngest boy) falls for the White Witch's charms and gets captured. Trapped, he has to get rescued by his three other siblings.

After rescuing Edmund, the four children have to escape the chasing White Wtich, with the help of two friendly beavers (who are so cute by the way). After stumbling across Aslan, the almighty Lion, they engage in a huge duel between good and evil to save Narnia.

The visual effects are genius and the story is totally captivating. A really enjoyable film and one that is watchable again and again.

This is one of the best fantasy films i have seen it has a different idea of how to show things, and characters who act out their role perfectly. The computerised animals are also very well done and has a great storry line like any other fantasy, thats what takes it down one. Due to it being like every other fantasy film.
