went to see this film with my mother and my son, and didnt know what to expect, it hasnt had alot of promo here and hadnt seen any clips, but we were all extremely surprised and how good it was, we were all glued to the screen from start to finish, with alot of laughs throughout, all the parts were well acted, nicholas cage was excellent and the lad who played david (the sorcerers appentice)was very good for an unknown, I would recommend this film, and fully intend buying the dvd when it comes out. another great family disney film

Producer Jerry Bruckheimers name above the film's title used to be pretty much a guarantee that I was gonna enjoy whatever was on offer (Beverly Hills Cop, Bad Boys, The Rock, Enemy of the State, Con Air, Armageddon, Crimson Tide, Gone in 60 Seconds, Pirates of the Caribbean 1 & 2, National Treasure 1).
But of late that Guarantee doesn't seem to be as consistent as before ( Bad Boys 2, Deja Vu, Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Prince of Persia, National Treasure 2) and now this half baked Special Effects Action Fantasy with his fave Lead Actor Nicolas Cage.
The Movie is a disappointment from the word GO, the characters and the Story didnt engage me, I didnt care about either.
Sure it looks slick, and the effects are all spot on, but it just lacked that extra touch, that pulls you into the movie.
Acting was ok, Nicolas Cage looked cool in his get up, Alfred Molina was much better in a similar role in Spiderman 2, the rest of the cast was so so.
Come on Mr Bruckheimer, stop playing it so safe with the family crowd, get back to OTT Action Spectacles like Con Air, The Rock and Armageddon.

popcorn movie for the under 12s

Entertaining with some nice special effects but utterly predictable. Good to see Alfred Molina as a villain again. Everyone else in the film can go swim.

 Wonderful, Entertaining Movie!

Most enjoyable! I remember the version I had seen in Disney's Fantasia, and the fact that the broom (i.e. mop) scene was kept made it perfect! The storyline was nice, and how it was mingled with Celtic sorcery was quite good in my opinion. I thought it was going to be disappointing seeing all those skyscrapers & modern stuff, but it really turned out contrariwise!
anyway, to cut it short...I loved it! :)

 Another great disney film.
