Weekend

I pre ordered my copy and watched it as soon as it came. outstanding film with brilliant acting and really good sets. Nottingham provided a brilliant back drop for the story. whether u gay or straight i think everyone will enjoy this story.

Finally a great gay themed movie. I ordered the DVD one week before I was aware that the movie would also be shown on theaters in Norway. Well deserved as this is a superbly acted little drama. Don't miss it if you have not seen it already.

Discovered this little gem by accident and i have to say it's a wondeful film; touching, feel-good and heartbreaking in equal turn with a fantastic soundtrack. You won't be disappointed.

I agree with the other reviewer here, I think that the basic story being told here would definitely resonate with anyone who has had or sought or needed connection irrespective of their sexuality because you could set this exact same scenario with a man and a woman or two women and while some of the dialogue would obviously have to change the underlying ideas would stay the same.

The performances of Tom Cullen and Eric New as Russell and Glen are about as naturalistic feeling as you can get and crucially sell that these two people have made a greater connection that just the one night stand they thought they were first entering into when they meet on a Friday night and end up spending the whole weekend together.

Without that feeling the film could easily have become one of those tiresome wanders down relationship lane, but in believing in these two guys you get involved in their relationship as it evolves even over just two days to become a surprisingly engaging little piece of British indie cinema.
