A very absorbing film - likeable characters, powerful setting and a good plot. Not your average gay film, this is intelligently written and portrayed. Sad that it had such minimal showings at UK cinemas - so treat yourself to the DVD!
'Blossoming' takes place in a run down shanty town where a boy of twelve manages to get away with living like a girl, before falling in love with the handsome police officer that is working against the boy's father. It's delightfully funny and has a gorgeous feeling to it, but the sweetness runs out, not due the film's conflict taking place, but rather to the lack of ideas that can take place.
