Just as good as "tipping the velvet" beautifully performed a must see!!.. i loved it !! =]
So very clever - so very well put together - so many twists and turns that kept my interest throughout whch isn't easy I can assure you!
i had already seen "tipping the velvet" which was just amazing so when i seen this on dvd i had to purchase.i certainly was not disappointed, what a beautiful story and so well acted, the instant attraction between the two women and the story right to the end was gripping.sarah waters has to be one of the finest british writers, her victorian tales are the best...
Beautifully acted and brilliantly adapted, this will have you hooked in from the beginning. Its split into parts, so taking a break over the three hours isnt a problem, and the price is just unbelievable. Sarah waters at her best, this film is absolutely brilliant.
This is one of the best love stories I have ever read and seen. The book is a must-read and the film brings the story to life. Thank you Sarah Waters for a great story and thanks to Elaine Cassidy and Sally Hawkins who play the characters in the movie so beautifully. Thumbs up!
This film was an absolute pleasure to watch. Any fan of the book would definitely enjoy the well followed storyline. Only very slight sequences are missed out from the film, but that is to be expected. The excellent storyline is driven along by extremely well suited actors, who play their roles superbly. The story of love and seduction certainly intrigues as it does entertain. A wonderful adaption.
