 Very Dissapointing!

The acting is really bad and the film doesn't really kick in until about 1 hour through (when the Queen of the Damned awakes) which is over 2/3 through.
All in all I would pay about 50p at the most for it.
Very bad!

 Not for Anne Rice Fans

I really love this film, its very slick and cool. The soundtrack is especially amazing. But when in relation to Anne Rice's books its mostly made up, I could make a huge list of all the alterations and the fabulous storylines that were missed out. The film was adapted from Rice's book Queen of the Damned but without an adaptation of The Vampire Lestat at (Second book in the main three books) viewers may get a little confused. Even if a viewer has read the books in question the story line has been changed dramatically to fit 2 books into one film.

A huge disappointment if you're looking for an adaptation but an okay film if you're not. When I watch this I tend not to relate it to Anne Rice, mainly because its nothing like the books at all. I hate that Armand is barley in it, and Jesse was not turned by Lestat and he was not turned by Marius. It wasn't Lestat at who played the violin it was Nicolas who isn't even mentioned, it just annoys me that with such rich novels this came of it. The one good point of it was Aaliyah who was fab as Akasha, however everything she does in the film was not in books. All of it is just wrong.

Don't get me wrong I like this movie but it does not deserve Anne Rice's title at all. Really the soundtrack is worth the money, the film is not.

 Damn Good

This film is one of my all time favourites. I love anything to do with vampires and this film had me hooked from the start.
It's centred around the vampire Lestat, who has slept through the last century, until he is awoken by a band playing rock music. He soon takes over as singer, and reborn into the new millenium where rockstars have power, he finds a new lease for life. By daring all vampires to come out of hiding, he unleashes a world of supernatural into ours and awakens the Queen of Vampires.
Meanwhile, Jesse, a Talamascan researcher realised that Lestats claims of being a vampire are more than just a rockstar gimmick and tracks him down using his journal. She finds herself drawn to him and falls in love with him.
Stuart Townsend and Aaliyah star in this film and both capture their roles perfectly.
Any fans of Interview With The Vampire will love this and even those who didn't like it should give it a go. Its a fantastic film with horror and supernatural themes and an amazing soundtrack by Johnathan Davis of Korn.

 good for goths

If you like films that have lots of rock music in it with lots of goths in it . Then this film is for you, i watched this and thought it was ok but very cheesy especially with the special effects. Its ok for a vampire film because lets face it there isnt that may good vampire films but it doesn't really spark the imagination. Overall ok cheesy goth film hope this helps.

Brilliant new take vampire flick, with a suprizingly strong performance for the late Aaliyah.Lestat, is a sexy/rock style vampire who wants to emrace the new world, he doesnt want to hide anymore, craving the love and admeration of the entire world.Aaliyah is the anncient queen of all vampires, ruthless and constantly blood hungry, and searching for a new king to rule over the earth. Throw in a love struck beauty, and a bunch of angry vampires, and your there! If you love anything vampire ( like me) then you must watch this!!! Quality Korn/Dissturbed track too!!! See ya.x
