Bloodthirsty vengeance is measured out in buckets, not spoonfuls for this hard-hitting vampire movie sequel. The story picks up right where the first Underworld left off, in the midst of a war between Lycans (werewolves) and vampires, with the gorgeous death-dealer Selene (Kate Beckinsale), on the run with her vamp-wolf hybrid lover, Michael (Scott Speedman).

Being the cause of Viktor's death, Selene can only hope to plea to the last remaining elder, Marcus. However, Marcus has already awakened and has become a more powerful creature than before. Now his only remaining goal is to awaken his Lycan brother William from his eternal imprisonment. With time running out, Selene and Michael must piece together the final clues to unlock the secrets of their bloodlines and stop Marcus before it's too late...

UNDERWORLD EVOLVES INTO A BETTER SEQUEL!

A rare thing, the sequel that is even better than the average original. Don't get me wrong, this sequel is no classic, but is a better paced film than the original. The film picks up the moment the original ended. Kate Beckinsale is back in leather ( Brilliant) and Scott Speedman is back as the Vampire Werewolf Hybrid (Dull)
The film's action is far better and the new head Vampire is a great creation. The film's script is tighter, and the film is far more violent.
Director Len Wiseman show great visual flair and knows how to put together a great action sequence. It was no wonder they picked him to direct Die Hard 4.0.
Underworld Evolution should entertain most horror/action fans. Anybody who likes Vampire, Werewolf movies, Blade trilogy and The Matrix should be entertained.
A great sequel!

I thoroughly enjoyed the first being a great gothic styled vampire vs werewolf movie and as good as that was this was better. In order to understand it you will have to pay attention as some of the plot can be a bit complicated. There are some excellent action scenes mostly consisting of gorgeous Kate Beckinsales Selene character as she battles her hybrid nemesis Marcus. With the vampire element and CGI fights kinda reminds me of a Matrix meets Blade affair which makes for great entertainment. Enjoy

 More Underworld action...

The whole cast, plus new faces are back in Underworld Evolution, with its spectactular climax to the orginal, expect all out war and action between the vampires and Lycan's.

I thought this follow up was a tad better than the orginal, the action is non stop and the story reaches new heights of exhilerating, it picks up right after the first so maybe it is better to watch both back to back and enjoy the thrill ride. The bad guy is even scarier than Bill Nighy and the werewolfs are meaner than before.

Slightly better than the first with amazing fight scenes and great acting with explosive results for the conclusion of the underworld story.

The sequel certainly raises the bar in terms of the story development, the character development and the awesome effects, this movie is certainly a lot more bloody and violent too, a great cast again especially the amazing Kate Beckinsale, this is a must for horror fans a perfect slugfest between vampires and werewolves.
