REVIEW 1:
THE FATHER AGE 38.
I wanted to see ZOMBIELAND, but on a rainy Autumn afternoon, I could not get my 11 (almost 12 ) year old daughter in to see that so I was left with no other option...honest!
I never really thought much of the 1980 version of fFame, so why would I enjoy this? Infact this film was entertaining enough, the script was predictable at best, but with a pretty good cast and enough song and dance sequences, it bubbled along for it's running time, I would not say I was over impressed but there are allot worse things to do on a rainy afternoon, and at least there was no corny dancing in the streets and the rancid Star Maker song in the film. I would have rather seen Zombieland but it was OK!
REVIEW 2:
THE DAUGHTER AGE 11 (Almost 12)
I thought it was great, it's allot fresher than the original, and although I love the High School Musical movies, the grit of Fame was refreshing, if you like Step Up and it's sequel you'll love this.
I even caught my Dad tapping his feet to the Sam Sparrow track Back and Gold. I understand the other reviews, but i really think this updated version is aimed at the teenage market, and not them that grew up with the original movie and the TV series, including the albums and Leg warmers, those who cherrished the 80's version are in for a wake up call, as it may be Fame by name but it's not fame by nature!

This is not a bad film, but I think that a few people may be a little bit disappointed. Although the film did have a good storyline, it did seem to skip forward very quickly and it got slightly confusing. However the acting and the characters were fantastic and the performances were very good.
Another minor complaint was the fact the title song did not appear in the film and was only played over the closing credits and briefly over the opening titles and you did not actually see the characters performing the song.
Although it was a good film; the magic just wasn't there.
When I saw the trailer for Fame it looked so good. How misleading. If you want a good dance film then I suggest you only watch the trailer because thats it. This film is so boring. The only highlight is the dance sequence to Black and Gold by Sam Sparro. If you want to be sedated then buy it. Even stars like Kelsey Grammar and Megan Mullally are dull. 0/10 Absolute rubbish
I had been looking forward to the release of Fame for a few months so was really excited to see it. If you're looking for a up to date version of the original movie then this isn't for you, the story line has been shifted around a little in parts and in other areas bares no resemblance at all to the original film, however it is a fun movie with a very talented, young cast who make the movie great to watch! It's almost like High School Musical for the older generation, with less songs and teeny-bopping routines.
