You really like Abba? You like Abba enough to listen to cover versions by people who can't sing? You sure? Do you mind if the film is directed by someone with no technical competence, let alone style? Really? Then this is the film for you.As the movie version of the stage adaptation of The Producers should have shown, you can't take a stage play and put it on the big screen with no changes. The broad gestures and surreal moments that work on stage just come across as plain wrong in the cinema - and on DVD it's even worse. To be fair, some of the routines are performed well - but they are merely curios compared to the flawless originals. They don't even try to do anything novel with the songs, these aren't covers - this is karaoke. And it apears this is all people want from this film, after all it comes with a sing-a-long option. As something weird to put on at a party whilst drunk then it serves its purpose, but as a film no-one but the most hysterical Streep / Abba obsessive could give this more than 2.5/5.
