Share the magical, heartwarming true-life story that has become the most popular family film of all time - Rodgers and Hammerstein's The Sound Of Music.

Julie Andrews lights up the screen as Maria, the spirited young woman who leaves the convent to become governess to the seven children of Captain von Trapp, an autocratic widower whose strict household rules leave no room for music or merriment.

Winner of five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, this timeless classic features some of the world's best-loved songs.

Top 100 DVD Reviewer

The film of course is a classic, but this is the 40th anniversary edition with 2 discs, with an extra disc jammed packed full of superb extras including an audio commentary by Julie Andrews, Christopher Plummer, The eldest child Liesl, and the real life youngest Von Trapp boy. This commentary strangely isn`t advertised on the special features here. There`s a great reunion with all the children 40 years after the film. If you already have the film on it`s own I would definately recommend buying this for the extra disc.
