In 1997, the behind the scenes story of the British and Irish Lions Tour of South Africa was captured on camera for the first time - the documentary 'Living with Lions' is acclaimed as one of the greatest sports films ever made.

Now, 12 years on, the Lions are back in South Africa and so is the film crew, recording every minute of what is arguably the most demanding contest in all of sport - The Lions against the Springboks in their own backyard. With absolute access to all areas of the Lions squad 'Living with the Pride' is the most intimate and intense portrait of the life of a Lion.

From the Bagshot training camp to the magnificent final test victory in Johannesburg, Head Coach Ian McGeechan and his pride of Lions worked closely with the film crew to make an astonishing, compelling documentary. With access to every man, team, management and selection meeting; every training session as well as the passion, fury, joy and pain of the dressing room, it is uncompromising and riveting - the ultimate test of courage and character... no one has been this close before.

Sometimes hilarious but more often brutal, bruising and bloody - it's exhilarating, emotional and often controversial and this is the real behind the scenes story of one of the most remarkable sports tours ever.

RIVAL TO LIVING WITH THE LIONS!

I am still undecided as to whether or not this is better than living with the lions.....Although they didn't win the series the results of this years tri nations actually proves what a special squad this was and also what probably would have happened had they toured australia or new zealand this year. For someone who lives and breathes rugby and believes heavily in the camaraderie rugby can bring this dvd somes it all up. There are some deeply emotional moments much like the '97 tour, one with geech which almost brought me to tears. The player cam is hilarious and people like donacha really make the dvd worth while and one which can be watched over and over. Just buy it and then you will only have one answer for the question of whether or not there is still a place for the lions in modern rugby :)

What a team, what a tour, what a DVD!!!!
Awesome, emotional, sometimes funny but always brutal this is a real in depth look at what happens on the greatest tour in Professional sport!!! I knew the result, but i felt the blood pumping and the nerves jangling during every game!!
Recommend it to anyone, though the language is a "bit" choice, a real gem for true Rugby fans!

Well worth it!!!!!!!!!!!

The Lions have left a marker! The DVD has left marker!

This is special!

It's just a shame that they narrowly lost the series. There's no spin doctor like Alastair Campbell to ensure the players are very cautious on camera. It is so honest and really provides the viewer with behind the scenes footage of the highs and the massive lows that the players and coaching staff endured.

The extras alone are worth the money for the whole DVD.

It's certainly up there, if not better than the 1997 DVD.

The Lions affects people in four countries, so to does the DVD.
