 Very Disappointing

My friend got me this DVD for my birthday and having just read Bret Hart's book I was very excited to sit down and watch this. The fist disc was really good and I quite enjoyed it, having not become a wrestling fan until the Attitude era it was nice to see some of the early Raw stuff.

However moving onto the second disc and the Attitude era I was hugely disappointed, the disc is made up entirely of the same old vignettes that get used on every Raw highlight real and there is barley any in ring action at all. During one of the few matchups they point out that this particular episode of raw was the highest rated of all time, grossing more than 8million viewers, the matchup they chose to highlight such a remarkable episode of Raw was Pat Patterson & Jerry Brisco vs The Mean Street Posse, I have no idea why such a poorly wrestled match would be used on a DVD of the best moments of Raw from the past 15 years.

The year 2000 is completely missed out, did nothing happen in the year 2000? The only moment mentioned from 2001 is the Kurt Angle milk truck incident & the WCW invasion is completely breezed over.

Despite being featured on the cover of the DVD & being an integral part of the WWE for more than a decade The Undertaker makes a fleeting appearance. His match with Mankind on the first disc is the only prolonged exposure the deadman gets, he features a little in the flag match against the Hart Foundation, you get a glimpse of him on the second disc during the revealing of the greater power & he fails to feature on the third disc.

The third disc is a little better than the second but not by much, HBK vs Edge in a street fight is pretty decent as is the Edge, RVD & John Cena triple threat, however how Eugene making a handful of WWE stars play musical chairs one of the highlights of the last 15 years I'll never know. Edge & Lita's sex show also makes an appearance, I enjoy seeing Lita in her undies as much as any other man but is this seriously what the WWE considers a great moment?

Throughout the three discs menus pop up with little bits of information 90% of which is pure nonsense. During the segment where Chris Jericho makes his debut the pop up menu hits us with a real gem of knowledge "Chris Jericho would later go on to host his own show, the Highlight-Reel" no info on him being a 9 time Intercontinental champion or how he defeated The Rock & Stone Cold in one night to become the first ever Unified Champion. During Kane's unmasking we are told how he stared the movie, see no evil, no mention of any in ring accomplishments what so ever. My personal favourite was during Shelton Benjamin's match against HBK, just as Shawn gets the win, the menu kindly informs us "despite the defeat Shelton's momma would still be proud of her boy" thank god they let me know that little nugget of info I wouldn't have been able to sleep thinking how disappointed Shelton's momma was.

Over-all this DVD is a massive disappointment, if it weren't for the early raw stuff being pretty decent I would give this a one star rating.

 Fantastic!

Great DVD at a great price. Massive amount of footage and also little bits of trivia occasionally pop up. One slight downer on the whole thing is the pathetic rules that dictate that they have to blur out the old WWF logo whenever it appears on the old footage, no matter how small or no matter whether a wrestler walks in front of it. I know laws are laws but this takes it beyond a joke. Luckily it doesn't seem to spoil any footage.
