In a performance hailed by critics across the country, Leonardo DiCaprio stars as Jim Carroll, a high school basketball hero headed for trouble. Teamed with his friends, Mickey, Neutron and Pedro, Jim seems destined for a bright basketball career. But when pressures from his coach, his mom, and school begin to mount, Jim finds solace in all the wrong places, and the dark streets of New York begin to tear him apart. "The Basketball Diaries" is a riveting story of one boy's life on the edge.

Another reminder of why Leo DiCaprio is one of the most successful and well-loved actors of our time. He is amazing and brilliant in this role, and the film is fantastic. A really good portrait of how drugs can destroy your life. It's harrowing and highly charged with emotion. How Leo has not got at least half a dozen oscars now is beyond me! This is SO worth watching!

A fantastic film! A must watch, leo dicaprio performance is amazing.
Shows you the real life side of drugs, NO glamour! Mark wahlberg also surpised me with his character, i couldnt imagine anyone else suiting it better.

This is such a good film, with terrific acting from leo dicaprio.Di caprio plays the part of a gifted poet and basketball player who falls into the trap of drugs.A must buy.

One of the most under-rated films around

Despite not being well know, this is one of my favourite films - it will keep you gripped from beginning to end with some excellent acting. A talented cast and compelling story will leave you more than satisfied that you parted with your money; and at a fiver...BARGAIN!
