This ppv is memorable for alot of reasons to me. The first ever Money in the Bank Match that nearly stole the show. Tag team champions going one on one against each other. And Cena and Batista becoming long term main eventers. Most of the matches delivered and I was entertained for the most part.
Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero
Not the best I seen from these two but a clinic was in the works. These two opened up with a pretty good effort that got the crowd opened. Lots of ground base wrestling and a nice finish. 4/5
First Ever Money in the Bank Ladder Match
Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit vs. Kane vs. Christian vs. Shelton Benjamin vs. Edge
An excellent match with some nice spots. Non stop action galore. I give credit to all of these guys but Shelton in these kind of matches is just something to see. 5/5
Legend vs. Legend Killer
Undertaker vs. Randy Orton
This was one of my favorite feuds of 05. The match wasn't excellent but these two had some great chemistry and the suspense was there. They would go on to have better matches and finish thier feud in Hell in a Cell. 4/5
Women's Title
Trish Stratus vs. Christy Hemme
I love to see womens matches. But some women have no business in the ring and Christy is one of them. Trish carried her through this but even for a womens match this is not even average. 2.5/5
Inter-Promotional Match
Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle
The biggest reason to see this ppv. You won't see anything close from this point on. A very good wrestling match that had everything except weapons. It went back and forth for some time. Some good finisher counters and the ending worked out great. 5/5
Sumo Match
Big Show vs. Akebono
I saw this match only once and that was on ppv. Seriously, I have no intention on ever seeing it again. I won't even rate this one.
WWE Title
JBL vs. John Cena
All Cena hate aside. This just wasn't a good match. A very poor outing from both of them. JBL dominated for awhile then it became a spot fest. It's rare that a brawl is boring and this match was boring from start to finish. This is a match that I usually skip but watched it again to remind myself how much I can't stand it. 2/5
World Heavyweight title
Triple H vs. Batista
A pretty good main event and Triple H carried The Animal pretty well. The Game took some nasty punishment at times and the blows were pretty sharp. You get the usual outside interference plus it got brutal. A good ending and it was the birth of the Batista era. 4/5
A very good ppv with two must see matches and a couple other good ones. Most of these guys would continue to feud. Cena and JBL's match at Judgement day would soon overshadow this outing. To include Michaels vs. Angle at Venageance and Triple H vs. Batista. I recommend this ppv and the ones after it as well.
