Average and not the best of WCW!!

I have a lot of Wrestling DVDs - and it is a shame that there is yet again a lot of repackaged footage of the same stuff (if you have the Monday Night Wars at various points you will be 'oh yeah that same person saying the same thing again')

Overall it is ok - some good stuff on Jim Crockett Promotions - though this could have been explored wider on a DVD about that!! It covers off the story behind WCW and its boom etc but doesnt really do anything more than scratch the surface - a large focus on the backstage politics of the Execs and VPs but not between the wrestlers!!

I was expecting something like the Rise and Fall of ECW DVD which is excellent - focus on the wrestlers, individuals who mad ethe company and major incidents both positive and negative!! To have no feature on Sting and his year long fight vs NWO and gloss it over is a disgrace - yes I know he wrestles for a rival promotion but this is a DVD about WCW and Sting was Mr WCW!!

There are a few potshots at Jeff Jarrett towards the end as well which arent really needed (and again could be because he went and set up TNA)

It is watchable dont get me wrong but seems to be a little bit revisionist and missing large chunks of who the main wrestlers were and what WCW was

I really hope that a counter DVD is released like 'Forever Hardcore' was - with actual WCW wrestlers commenting (only WWE contracted ones spoke) to get some more of the story!!

 Great WCW Memories

If you loved the wcw like I did then you will love this dvd, not only is the documentry excellent about the history of wcw and the prime of the company when they where smashing wwe in the ratings but it has great inerviews on the collapse of the company and loads of matches which you will love. A MUST BUY

 Great DVD

As someone who was never a hardcore WCW fan, I bought this out of sheer curiosity. The only times I woul watch WCW was when I wa channel surfing between advert breaks in WWF RAW.

The documentary on the first disc is pretty enthralling, I was a little skeptical of the DVD at firs but much like The Rise and Fall of ECW I couldn't take my eyes off the screen and it had me interested the whole time. This boxset is worth it for the documentary alone in my opinion.

The other discs consist of matches that I myself thoroughly enjoyed. Some of the matches consist of mid-carders but it's still solid, entertaining wrestling at the end of the day. There are also some classics such as the War Games match which was basically the nWo taking on Flair, Anderson, Sting and Luger. If you don't know what WarGames is, it's pretty much the Elimination Chamber but using two rings and two Hell in a Cell cages instead of a chamber.

Also includes the infamous Golberg V DDP match that cut out on Pay Per View and no one at home saw the ending.

A great buy, I would thoroughly recommend any wrestling fan to buy this.

 hmmm

I feel disappointed.. the first dvd documentary was probs the best as it takes u to a decent level of understand of the rise and fall.. but the other 2 dvds were basic.. missed out the whole era.. if they were the best matches then clearly the wcw they know is not the one i watched and used to love..

wwe clearly messed it up on purpose to spite wcw history because as some one else said.. no sting v nwo.. wheres macho man destroying everyone.. rey mysterio versus kevin nash.. millionaires club.. new blood.. where is the whole wcw.. basically im not happy..

if u wana just bite the cherry of a cake and not even get to the icing let alone the cake itself then buy but dont expect too much!
