So close to glory. Despite an heroic effort United just fell short in an incredible season full of twists and turns.

It was the closest run Premier League title race in years, and United delivered some stunning performances in their bid to become champions for a 4th season in a row.

Who can forget the dramatic derbies against noisy neighbours City as 3 times United proved they are still the top team in town with late, great goals? Vital victories over Arsenal as Nani ran riot at the Emirates and Wenger saw red at Old Trafford. And in Europe the United faithful welcomed back Becks with AC Milan before giving the Italians a football master class.

The Reds didn't end the season empty-handed winning the Carling Cup in a thrilling final against Aston Villa as Sir Alex landed his 34th major trophy as United boss. And there were individual honours with Premier League Player of the Year Wayne Rooney weighing in with 34 goals in a stunning season.

Featuring every goal and every game, plus exclusive interviews with the manager and top stars including Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs, Darren Fletcher, Rio Ferdinand and Gary Neville.

 Better than expected

We lost Ronaldo and Tevez, suddenly people were predicting a finish outside the top 4 and no trophies, but we did better than most expected. We finished only a point off the top of the league, we went out by a single away goal in the Champions League and we won a trophy (Carling Cup). Valencia had a great first season, Nani started to show why we paid 17m for him and Rooney finally emerged from the shadows to become the striker we all hoped he would. Some high points this season - the late wins over City, beating Liverpool at Old Trafford (I was there), the wins over AC Milan. Can't wait for next season.

Naturally disappointed in not winning the league to Chelsea. Then again, they have Abramovich to thank,. Fact - without his money, there was no way Chelsea would of won the league titles. The cups maybe, but they were never a league winning side
Now, the greatest English club manager has to get rid of Berbatov, too slow and Anderson, has had his chances to score, but Nani is improving. Wayne Rooney will be better than ever..
But never rule out United, since 1990, they haven't gone more than one season without winning a trophy or more.
They won the League Cup again for the 4th time and unfortunate not to of won the league.
As for the European Champions League, they should of been in the final.
Roll on Manchester United, the best team in Manchester.
Forget City, they are has beens already.

 Rooney's breakout season

Tevez gone, ronaldo gone, any other team would've sunk into oblivion after a loss of players of that calibur. However one player finally got his chance to step up to the plate. Rooney did this. His performances carried the team all season getting 34 goals and gettin several awards too. United however came up short in everything. 2nd by a point in the league, Knocked out by bayern in the european cup and somehow knocked out by leeds in the f.a cup. Over reliance on giggs, scholes, neville and van der sar is costing the team. Players like carrick, nani and anderson are not up to the standard and players need to be bought. Pjanic, rodwell and benzema are some of my choices and as a sidenote berbatov has grown on me and i like him however he should be sold for a big game forward like benzema, pato or aguero

After buying the 10/11 season review, I knew this DVD couldn't be any worse. Although it was a disappointing season, this DVD is put together perfectly, with no stupid angles or terrible commentary that ruined this years review.

Some great moments during the 09/10 season, including plenty of victories over Man City and winning the League Cup. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars was down to the lack of extras on the disc, with the only extra being a countdown of all Wayne Rooney's goals.

Great DVD. Simple, effective format.
