Forget polite debate-true battles come to the U.S. Capital when the Superstars of Raw and SmackDown present CAPITOL PUNISHMENT. The unhinged R-Truth believes a vast conspiracy has denied him a world championship opportunity until now. Can John Cena successfully defend the WWE Championship , or will R-Truth deliver on his promise that Cena will "get got"?

The Viper Randy Orton faces an increasingly bitter Christian for the World Heavyweight Championship and The Miz's former protege Alex Riley looks to make a name for himself at the expense of the Awesome One.

Top 100 Music Reviewer

I didn't order this event on box office and it turns out i was right not to. It isn't so much awful, just really not great.
It gets off to a nice start with KOFI KINGSTON VS DOLPH ZIGGLER for the u.s. title, both men getting some impressive moments into the match, nothing to really grumble about,it's a fairly decent match.
Next up is ALEX RILEY who having had enough of the MIZ (i know how he feels) takes him on in a pretty decent showing,at least this match gives us a glimpse of what to expect from the now liked ALEX RILEY.
Then we have what's meant to be a bout between BIGSHOW and ALBERTO DEL RIO,but before the bell MARK HENRY attacks BIGSHOW and this leaves the eventual encounter with DEL RIO as being more of a BIGSHOW trying to fight whilst hurt showing,it's alright but not one to stay in the memory bank.
EZEKIEL JACKSON takes on WADE BARRETT for the i.c. title in a bit of a slow show filler, not good for a title match,i suppose there's a few good spots, but that's all.
Finally a really enjoyable match with REY MYSTERIO taking on C.M.PUNK,both wrestlers showing why they are so respected. A really impressive match from 2 of the top stars. I'd go as far as to say it's the best match of the event.
RANDY ORTON once again goes against CHRISTIAN in a world heavyweight title encounter, and as you'd expect from these 2,it's a decent match, not their best, but still enjoyable.
EVAN BOURNE takes his high flying skills to JACK SWAGGER,a fairly decent match, but just not the time both men need to really showcase their skills.
And so we have the final after a so so event,JOHN CENA gets his hands on R-TRUTH in an entertaining but not really anything impressive match that really doesn't last very long for a main event match for the WWE title. Both men are better than this okay match,it just doesn't have that wow factor, same could be said for the whole event and the president skits are just stupid.
I didn't expect this to be a great show, but it's a pity it didn't surprise me. If you love WWE,give it a go,if you just like watching the better events,i would have to say avoid. MONEY IN THE BANK 2011,now there's an event not to miss!
