Merlin: Series 3 Complete Box Set (5 Discs)

This series just gets better and better, the third concentrates on Morgans dark side as she attempts to get Arther killed on many occasions. This series is a joy from beginning to end and is what family entertainment is about, The cast are very good Colin Morgan plays Merlin in a very likable way and Richard Wilson and Antony Head are excellent in there roles. If you missed this because it was placed opposite the X-Factor then this is a box set to really enjoy. This was the most watched pro gramme on the I-played so that must mean something. Oh it was filmed in HD and the Blu-ray is also coming. A forth series has been confirmed already due to the high rating against ITV biggest programme.

This an amazing tv series. Brilliant host of stories and great special effects. But the best thing about this series is the chemstry between all the characters especially Merlin and Arthur who are just brilliant together. There are plenty of funny moments throughout this series. You start to see the real side of Arthur through this series with him starting to take command and introduce his Knights from the famous round table. Gwain and Sir Pellione come into this series and there are each brilliant in there own way. This is a great series to own for all the family to enjoy and if you havent already get the first to as well. Cant wait for the next series to come around.

Let's make this clear: I love Merlin, and thought series 3 was splendid. So as far as the episodes go, I have no complaints, and the box in it self is beautiful.

But, here is my complaint: the extra material, or more exactly, the lack thereof. Hardly any audio commentaries (and no Colin & Bradley-ones which are my favourites), no "magic behind merlin" (as there was no such show this series), none of the material that was available on the homepage during the series such as Colin and Bradleys 13-episode "quest". Why!? For BBC's second largest family show (after Doctor Who) they should really put a bit more effort into the box sets.

i honestly think there has never been a better series from bbc. it is a fantasy drama but, it also has plenty of action and bucket loads of laughs. i even got people who usually hate this kind of thing to watch it. the fact that there is now a fourth season out and most likely a fifth on the way should count for something as well i'd think.
since this is the third season boxset i can safely say that it is just as good if not even better than season one.
i would highly recommend buying any if not all of them.
