All the sketches from the classic spoof soap!

Thrill to the heartwarming exploits of these antique-loving scallywags as they ply their skilled (or perhaps not so skilled) trade, in that tiny (and yet, at times, not so tiny) shop on the outskirts of Manchesterford.

All your favourite episodes are here, all the rascally yet therapeutic shenanigans that showered fame, fortune and glittering prizes!

The story sees the original cast from Victoria Woods TV series; the plot involves the cast reprising their roles from the TV show on stage with an experimental director, who wants to adapt the show into a gritty commentary on British suburban life. But the cast want to have a fun show with a good tap number. The cast end up hijacking the show taking it back to its original roots, and take it to the West End, funded by Bo Beaumont's (Julie Walters) lottery win.

The second act is the musical within the musical, and is like the original series, where the story unfolds with a few twists and turns. The musical received mixed reviews partly for extending a sketch into a three hour long musical, and I would agree that it is too long, and the plot is not engaging over three hours, I found myself loosing interest. However, it was nominated for Best New Musical, Best Actress in a Musical (Julie Walters) and Best Performance in a Supporting Role in a Musical (Celia Imrie) at the Laurence Olivier Awards, and won Best Supporting Actress. Personally I think its poor.

To appreciate this pastiche, which used to feature in the 'Wood and Walters' series in the 80s, it helps a lot if you enjoyed 'Crossroads' which it is based on, with its wobbly sets, fantastic plots, fluffed lines and dodgy camera work - especially when it starred Noel Gordon. Otherwise you might be disappointed, because you won't appreciate the references. On the other hand, If that describes you, then treat yourself. It's not that long at 1hr and10 mins but at this price it is worth it and will bring back memories of a much maligned but well-loved programme.

I love all the actors in this and not having sky was unable to see when on the tv. I bought this in anticipation of a wonderful show. I was so disappointed at first and could not see how it could be poor with the acting talent in it. I must admit that it did grow on me but overall I would not buy it if I had seen it beforehand.
