 Very good attempt

Although by no means perfect this movie is very enjoyable and they have worked wonders considering the low budget. Britain used to make tremendous war movies but there hasn't been a good one for decades, in fact I can't think of any in the last decade or two. This movie is a cross between The Dirty Dozen and Heroes of Telemark although the storyline isn't similar to these movies but the background, characters and locations are what remind me of these movies.

Personally I found Sgt Mac to the best best character in a movie that has plenty of action but not a great deal of direction. The majority of characters weren't given much substance and the movie dwelled on two characters for the most part. Towards the end it felt a bit rushed and could have done with another 20 of 30 mins to develop characters and to give the storyline more substance.

A very good attempt nonetheless and definitely worth a watch. With a bigger budget this could have been something special.

 Worth Watching

Sean Bean is good in this film as he usually is, and Danny Dyer is surprisingly convincing as the cheeky and rebellious British soldier. Good early scenes up in Scotland and good opening scene with Danny & his platoon in northern France heading for Dunkerque. Good scenes in Norway during winter later in the film, beautiful country. This is a standard WWII movie with good stunts and action scenes, and I really enjoyed this movie. The ending was dissapointing though, but it leaves an opening to a sequel later. Also great to see some Norwegian actors with some more famous actors like Sean Bean and Danny Dyer. Aksel Hennie who played Max Manus in the film "Max Manus" (Man of War), plays a role in this movie too which is just great :)

 Refreshingly Good

Its difficult to make a WWII film authentically nowadays but this has pulled it off. Kept me watching throughout with on the edge of my seat. Sean Bean & Danny Dyer at their best - well done.

 SHAME...

first of all the plot is a commando group has to go behind enemy lines to steal a piece of german technology...
the film starts off reasonably well...but before you know it..its all over and you dont really care what happens to characters and wheather they live or die..as you can imagine the film focuses on bean and dyer but still theres no feeling from the viewer to even care the outcome of the characters they play..oh and watch out for the scottish seargent and the phrase he uses when meeting the group...that was taken from another war movie...
all in all dont be fooled by the trailer...have seen worse but have seen alot better one time watch only.....
