Out of the pages of the legendary comics and graphic novels steps Jonah Hex (Josh Brolin), a scarred drifter and bounty hunter of last resort who can track anyone...and anything. Having survived death, Jonah's violent history is steeped in myth and legend and has left him with one foot in the natural world and one on the "other side." His one human connection is with Lilah (Megan Fox), whose life in a brothel has left her with scars of her own. But Jonah's past catches up with him when the U.S. military makes him an offer he can't refuse: to wipe out the warrants on his head, he must hunt and stop dangerous terrorist Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich). But Turnbull, now gathering an army and preparing to unleash Hell, is also Jonah's oldest enemy and will stop at nothing until Jonah is dead.

All i can say i have seen alot worse...i find that ( having worked within the games and dvd rental industry for over 10 years ) that people nowadays are rarely able to give a thumbs up to anything, and in some cases rent both games and films determined to be disappointed, and later return them saying how rubbish it was, and when we ask " why? " they reply, " erm, it just was " like the trend of today is to be as miserable and negative as possible when dealing with any film or game.
Which is why i try to avoid any reviews before sitting down to watch any film, so not to be either a sheep, influenced with somebody's previous opinion, so i sat and watched Jonah Hex with my flatmate and we were both entertained and felt it did exactly what it said on the box.
It was nothing ground-breaking nor particularly original but neither was it the complete disaster i had anticipated, the effects were fine, the plot was kind of interesting and the only thing i did feel violated by was the intrusive rock soundtrack which, for me, sounded like it had wandered in from some other modern day horror/action flick and felt completely out of place.
Josh Brolin was great, Malkovich was...Malkovich and Megan Fox was destined to wear a grubby saloon dress and be the most stunning whore since Heather Graham in From Hell with Johnny Depp.

If your a fan of the comics or not it dont matter, this is a great fun film, the story is your basic revenge theme with Hex helping the military capture the villain who is building a super weapon (and killed Hex family) along with the help of an old flame the beautiful Megan Fox!! Its fun filled with shootouts and explosions, the only problem is that it has a short running time of 1hr 20mins. The film has some great ideas and is probably the most fun comic book style western in a while.

This is a film that has got an almighty hammering in the states and has lead to limited screenings everywhere else but i for one quite enjoyed it. Josh Brolin was excellent as Hex and Megan Fox was once again gorgeous this time as prostitute Lilah who for her screen time wasnt too bad. The plot is very basic allowing room for the action scenes which were very impressive...definately worth a go. Enjoy

Ok, I have seen a lot of movies in my time. This movie is awful don't waste your money on it. The plot does not gel and there is no depth to the characters what so ever! I really like some DC comic and Marvel adaptions out there.....but this is really bad. The movie is around 70mins long and its over before it has begun, its like Heroes season 2......its as if the writers were absent partly though the making of the movie and it was then edited by the janitor. Terrible.

 Good Supernatural Western

This film is for those who like Clint Eastwood westerns, anti heroes like Snake Plissken, games like Red Dead Redemption, and other comic movie adaptions, like Ghost Rider (which the Jonah Hex screenwriters are directing a sequel to).
I had low expectations for this film, but was very pleasantly surprised. I'm baffled by the panning this film received, maybe the critics saw that Matt LeBlanc is an executive producer, or an opposing film company payed them to slate it. Who knows?
Watch and enjoy.
