This film starts at the end of the American civil war.Where the southern troops are holding out.They are forced to surender and are all murdered except Wales, who with a young man escape from the federal troops.This is by far the best of Eastwoods westerns outside the spagheetie westerns.Its faced paced at the start but slows down toward the end of the film.
