Meek's Cutoff

..beautifully photographed and with a great central performance by Michelle Williams.

i wanted to enjoy this film, everything about it feels the part, it really is the old west, cast cant be faulted, not a lot happens and theres not really much dialogue but thats probably how it really was in them days, small group of families being led to nowhere by a guide who doesnt really know where they are, come across a native of the lands who may be helping them. for me the ending is all wrong and spoils film. no middle ground here you will love it or hate it.

Certainly it's worthwhille to see what travelling across the Wild West was really like, but all we see here is grass, wagons and little else. There is no action as we know it, one confused indian and a lot of boredom. At one point it appears to be get interesting and suddenly it ends.

....starts nowhere and goes nowhere with a lot of boredom in between.
