 The Best Cowboy Show Ever

I am thrilled to find that at long last this show is to become available on DVD. I don't know whether to give it as a birthday present for my Dad or keep it for myself. Or buy two copies! Each episode contained drama, comedy and was well acted by the late Pete Duel and Ben Murphy.
Thanks Play.Com

Absolutely magic little early 1970s TV western series

This is a magic little western TV series and it's only a pity that it wasn't shot in widescreen and a better sound format than the monaural of its time. Looking on the bright side, at least it's in colour. If it had been an English series it could have been in black and white.

Pete Duel and Ben Murphy make an excellent partnership as the ex-hole in the wall gang outlaws seeking amnesty from the law for their train robbing crimes by staying out of trouble for a year. Of course everything conspires to make them fail.

The series fell apart somewhat after Pete Duel's tragic death as his replacement, though good, just wasn't up to the same standard (though to be fair you always tend to go with the original given a choice).

It's not to be taken too seriously, being of about the standard in the seriousness stakes of a James Bond film, but it's not a comedy. If you like westerns including those of a not to serious nature then you can't fail to like and appreciate this series.

Whilst the picture suffers from a few little sparklies, the colour is brilliant and the sound crisp and clear for its time.

I waited for a considerable time for this to come out on DVD and recommend that you buy it before it's deleted.

 Enjoyable trip down memory lane

One of my favorite shows from the 70's Pete Duel (sadly missed) and Ben Murphy work well together and I could not think of two other actors who could have done as well or better in the parts of two reformed outlaws. Looking forward to the next season when it comes to DVD.
