The Sundance Kid is the fastest gun in the West, his sidekick Butch is a dreamer, always planning that bigger, better bank raid. But things are getting tougher and soon the accident-prone anti-heroes decide it's time to head south and disappear into legend.

Winner of 4 Oscars including Best Screenplay for William Goldman and Best Song ('Raindrops Keep Fallin' On My Head') and Best Score for Burt Bacharach.

 Simply The Best. Ever.

This film is, quite simply, the best (and as it happens, my favourite) movie ever. It's an award-winning and marvellously successful mix of a fabulous script, some quite brilliant acting, alongside superb camera work which brings this story of two anti- heroes to life. Redford - a relative newcomer in 1971 and not the Producer's first choice - is in his element, with dramatic action sequences interspersed with perfect comedic timing. Newman hardly appears to have to act, his part is so eminently playable and he seems to be perfectly at ease throughout. Catherine Ross is simply stunning and the potential ménage a trois is managed to perfection. Sturdy direction from the magnificent George Roy Hill makes this an unmissible film. You cannot help but love these characters and you will watch this one again and again and again. Almost forty years on it's as fresh as the day it first appeared in the cinema and even the recurring "Raindrops" won't put you off! It's mesmerising and unforgettable.

 Classic

I think that this movie is a must buy to all you western fans....I totally have to admit that this is one of my favourite movies amongst others. It has the action, adventure, comedy and romance..I think Butch Cassidy (Paul Newman) and Sundance (Robert Redford) have a good friendship all the way through the film and stick by eachother what ever it takes...this film totally inspires me, and No wonder it won several oscar awards because it has everything a film should have, a fantastic storyline...and by the way, Paul Newman yet again, always looks fantastic whatever character he plays...DEFINATELY ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES EVER!!! 10/10

Paul newman is his usual brilliant in one of the best westerns of all time. He plays his normal loveable character with all the great lines and is written so the audience will love newman more. Redford is good too but being as limited in acting ability as he was not much was expected from him. He did improve over the course of the film as he struck a great chemistry with newman. It is a real pity that they didn't star in more films together. Watch the scene when they rob the train for the second time
