First off the bat, despite the references to Isaac Asimov, this film actually has no relation to any Asimov stories. Rather the title was appropriated for the purposes of the film.

Anyway, getting that technicality out the way, this is actually a better summer blockbuster than others. In the future robots are everywhere, serving humanity. As a brand new model is about to roll out, the murder of the chief scientist at U.S Robotics, the main manufacturer of them, sends Detective Del Spooner on an investigation that will have huge repercussions for society - not that he knows that at the start!

While it's not super-intelligent, it does at least find time to ask a few interesting questions and moot some ideas about technology, and how humans might make use of it in the future along the way, inbetween some impressive action sequences. Really, it seems in 30 years time the only car manufacturer left will be Audi!! It's a little thing really, but quite annoying as well. However, this film should please those looking for an action fic and those looking for a little bit of thought as well.
