Winning many awards during its time this comedy series saw an investigative team of aliens sent to Earth on a mission to learn everything about humans and civilisation.

3rd rock was amongst my favourite US sitcoms of the 90s and I have certainly enjoyed watching the series again on DVD. Many of the funniest moments come from the 'aliens' misunderstanding of how things work on Earth and the show certainly highlights just how confusing our way of life can be. Each of the characters is funny in their own right but special mention must go to the always excellent John Lithgow who plays Dick Solomon. The show was never as consistently funny as the best sit-coms and the quality did dip a little in the latter series but this was still a top notch comedy.

Comedy about 4 extraterrestrial scientists that pose as a family that comes too earth too explore earth and learn about the human race. Humor in the show is derived from the aliens' attempts to study human ppl and due to their living as humans themselves whilst on Earth and how they react when they do something new. Almost all the episodes revolve around the Family difficulty blending themselves into Earth culture and understanding human customs. weary funny show a must see tv show.
