A must have for any true Lord of the Rings fan!
The extended scenes really add to the magic of Tolkiens World and help to deepen the understanding detween the characters and viewers.
Extremely true to the books, the three Lord Of the Rings films are absolutely superb. Brilliant special effects, excellent casting, you just can't criticise any element of the films at all. The extended versions are well worth it. They don't just add in meaningless shots, they add in critical story elements that were omitted from the cinema versions to keep the films a reasonable length. The additions change the light the story is portrayed in, and while not absolutely essential, add real depth. They can not be recommended highly enough. The books tell a huge story and long films are needed to retell the story accurately. Immerse yourself into the extended versions and you will find it well worth it.
Brilliant!
